I actually have to stop and ask myself this, if January was a good month. Still haven’t had one minute to stop this month yet.
It’s never easy to restart after Christmas holiday break, even more if you have been lucky enough as I was to spend quite a long Xmas break. I had the chance to break with usual routine and to spend some days in a new city as well (you can find my Vienna in three days travel guide in two different posts), and once back after holidays the return has not been so easy. As usual, lot of jobs, and new things to plan for the new year. But good things happened as well, first of all my visit to Homi Milan fair, with many other fellow Italian bloggers (even if I was dreaming of visiting Imm Cologne or Maison and Object this month. Let us hope for next year?)
With the new year, lots of good intentions in my mind, first of all the necessity of cutting the unnecessary (do you remember, #designtime post of this month?). After one month, I have to say I still have to work a lot on this in my life. But with Italian Bark blog hopefully I’ve been able to follow my intention of a more rigorous schedule, just Monday-to-Friday and nothing during the weekend, did you noticed this? Let’s leave the weekend for real life, hope you all have something better to do than read my blog in those days as well 😉

Let’s start as for every Monthly Inspirations post with some interior design inspirations I would have included in
1. This living room in Manhattan from AD Spain –via– is just the one I have in my dreams 2. Together with this bright bathroom, made special with that Moroccan carpet and those ethinc style tiles 3. Love this black kitchen, with cabinets in rustic wood finish painted in modern black. ps Did you notice that black is back? (img 3 and 4 via Coco and Kelley) 4. Not ready for black yet? Probably you prefer this total white living room found here 5. And you can just reuse two vintage suitcases and place them as bedsides (Line Thit Klein, via This is Paper) 6. The total white effect in this library found on Desire to Inspire is just amazing. Maybe just a little bit difficult to find out the book you’re looking for 😉
I use to share many home workspaces, in my I’d like to work here coloumn, but this is the one I really would like to work in. I’m so upset, can’t find the right source for it…Please someone who out there can tell me where this amazing corner is located?? (via)

In this January we’ve learnt more about Pantone colour of the year, Marsala.
This has actually been the most popular interior palette with Marsala …
and this is my fav picture from Homi fair, with Marsala as well 🙂

Quote of the month (found in lovely blog ohthelovelythings) :
Because, there are many inspiring beings out there. You just have to come out from your shell and comfort zone…
…..and surround with cute dogs, I would add.
Like this one I met while I was looking for images for my last post about La Case de Cousin Paul: he’s just one of the many testimonials of SrPerro (translated, MrDog), a blog and website dedicated to urban pets…
Now, he’s become the testimonial of this colourful January as well:)
