This question was one of the most frequent at last Salone del Mobile. There was even a whole part of the fair dedicated to its answer : FTK (Technology For the Kitchen), that side of Eurocucina dedicated to technology for the kitchen.
Because, whether you like it or not, the future is technology. I’m talking about that good one, that simplifies our lives.
I was told by Hoover , excellence in the appliance industry, something more about how the kitchen of the future is. And I must say, I like it.

1| The kitchen of the future is…
CONNECTED
.
The scenario is : young and busy couple, who want to enjoy the few time spent in the house but also the time spent outside.
When I affirm that technology makes your life easier I think of something like WIZARD #connectedkitchen: that kitchen by Hoover that you can control with one app.
In fact, all appliances are connected with one single application: oven, dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator, freezer, hob and hood. That is, the ultimate technology as applied to the world of household appliances.
But I think that the scenario is just not the one of the young and busy couple, that one we see in television on advertising.
I think of a couple of old ones living alone: with the WIZARD app their sons can keep under control the opening and closing of the gas, for example. But I also think of a mother with children, with this app she can keep away from the hob the curious and naive hands of her kids (at least, she can avoid disasters!).
I think ttat the kitchen of the future goes right in this direction, what do you think?

.

2 | The kitchen of the future is…
SOCIAL
The future of the kitchen ? More than a place for cook and eat, a pleace to meet. A social place, indeed.
A place where to meet between old friends but also a place to meet new people: that one of the social dinners, that are now a trend in Italy as well. If you don’t know about this -oversimplyfing it- it’s the habit of going out for dinner in someone else’s home instead than in a restaurant. Or, from the other perspective, to organize dinners at home for people who you don’t know.
The benefits? Money saved and lots of new chats.
The fact is that we believe that we are more and more connected with people, thanks to smartphones and social networks, but in reality we are more disconnected than ever. Spending hours in facebook, chatting in whatsupp, but without a minute to talk each other by person. There’s really the need of meeting and spending time together, again.
Hoover stand was designed around this new concept of dinner, of hosting a pop-up restaurant at home, where travellers from all over the world are invited to meet and share their experiences.
It’s really a good way to think of the future this one of the #socialkitchen. But I never had the chance to take part into one of those social dinners I admit, did someone of you took part in one of them? I’m curious to hear your experiences!!
