As I do every year, this time again I’m writing a short report with the latest Tile Trends 2020 spotted at Cersaie fair.
Cersaie – the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings – which runs in Italy every September, is the best place where to find the latest news and collections in the ceramic coverings and floorings.
I visited the fair two weeks ago to explore what’s new and interesting in the surface and ceramic design, finding out many interesting hints. In the next days, I’ve been through all the material, the new collections, the photos, to research and focus on the new trends coming out from this year. The result is the upcoming new N/T Trendbook from Cersaie 2019, which will include many other pattern and surfaces trends, top colors and much more, in 160 pages entirely dedicated to this topic. Latest Tile Trends 2020 from Cersaie 2019
#1 Black&White
If you think that black and white is boring you should have had a look at the surfaces presented at this Cersaie fair. Brands this year more than ever explored how the simplest color match – black and white – can lead to endless results, when combined to a surface in ceramic. From optical effects, to mosaics, to terrazzo, nothing is too strange and difficult to be used in real life if you go for the evergreen black&white couple.

#2 Opulent Marble
Tired of marble? Well it looks like it is not yet time to leave marble behind. Especially if it’s a really decorative and opulent kind of marble. As seen at Cersaie 2019, in fact, one of the latest tile trend is to reproduce – thanks to the digital technologies – the most refined and precious marbles on ceramic surfaces. If you think they are too much, you should be aware that the “too much” word is not synonymous with “bad looking” anymore. Well, ok, it depends from the kind of “too much” actually 😉

#3 Zellige
Yes we were writing about this also last year in the trend report from Cersaie and definitely confirmed. Zellige is one of the new trends to try this 2019 if you are looking for an update in your home, especially in the kitchen or bathroom. With shiny and imperfect surfaces absolutely back on trend, zellige-inspired tiles are the perfect choice.
