Yes wallpapers are back as a big trend and I was telling this also last week, talking about the latest trends for interior decoration for 2019 from Paris.
Actually, we are seeing wallpapers for some years now, but in my opinion this year wallpaper is starting to be a contemporary option also for those ones who always thought it was “old-fashioned”. I realize this because finally my customers also start to consider wallpaper as an option 😉
The wallpapers are back as a trend because they fit that maximalist taste that today is emerging after years of minimalism. Well, I do not think I’ll ever be a big fan of the “too much decorated”, but I think that the right wall covered with the right wallpaper can really make a difference. I am thinking, for example, of the headboard wall, or the one behing the dining table, or the desk, or for example of a passage between the living and sleeping areas. Actually, while I’m writing, I’m thinking that now I would also love to restyle again my living and I have a wall which is perfect for some cool wallpaper. We’ll see. I also think wallpaper are a nice option for retails and hospitality interiors, thinking for example to hotel bedrooms or to shops and cafés.
Meanwhile, I’m sharing today a selection of the most trendy wallpapers, with some proposals for those of you looking for a “wow” effect, but also for those who are looking for something less flashy. Del ritorno delle carte da parati ne parlavamo la settimana scorsa, proprio a proposito delle ultime tendenze per la decorazione d’interni per il 2019 da Parigi.
Se già da qualche anno si vedono molte proposte interessanti sul tema, è secondo me proprio da quest’anno che la carta da parati è stata sdoganata un po’ per tutti, diventando da rivestimento “vecchio stile” ad opzione super attuale per decorare casa. Me ne accorgo perché finalmente anche i miei clienti iniziano a prenderla in considerazione 😉
Le carte da parati sono tornate di tendenza perché soddisfano quel gusto massimalista che oggi si sta facendo sempre più spazio, dopo tanto tempo di assoluto dominio dello stile minimal. Io non credo sarò mai una grande fan del “troppo decorato”, ma credo che la parete giusta rivestita con la carta da parati giusta possa davvero fare la differenza nello stile di un interno. Penso ad esempio alla parete dietro al letto, a quella che fa da fondo al tavolo da pranzo o alla scrivania, oppure ad esempio a una di passaggio tra zona giorno e notte. A dire il vero, mentre scrivo, sto pensando che ora la vorrei mettere anche nel mio soggiorno nella parete con varco verso il disimpegno. Vedremo. Le carte da parati sono un’ottima opzione non solo per le case, ma anche per interni commerciali, penso ad esempio a negozi e bar, oppure a camere d’albergo.
Intanto vi propongo oggi una selezione dei temi più di tendenza per le carte da parati, con una serie di proposte più o meno decorative che possano soddisfare i gusti sia di chi cerca un effetto “wow”, sia per chi cerca qualcosa di meno appariscente. Le carte da parati sono tornate così in voga perché riescono a dare un effetto di profondità tridimensionale alle pareti che con la semplice pittura non si riesce ad ottenere. Le ultime proposte riproducono effetti prospettici di grande intensità, con ambienti interni ed esterni. L’ultimissima tendenza è quella di decorare anche il soffitto, applicando magari proprio una carta da parati a tema.

The wabi sabi trend – that is, finding beauty in imperfection – is still very popular. If you want to embrace this trend (without destroying the walls) you can opt for example for a wallpaper with a raw effect.

La tendenza wabi sabi – ovvero, della bellezza dell’imperfezione -è ancora attualissima. Se volete abbracciare questo trend (senza distruggere le pareti) potete optare ad esempio per una carta da parati con effetto raw e materico.

The jungle trend is not yet finished and there are several cool proposals around the tropical and botanical theme. My advice however is to opt for a softer botanical decor, for example now I would choose tropical motifs in neutral shades, or a wallpaper with a natural landscape in warm colors. If you want something really colourful you could also opt for a bold floral wallpaper.
La tendenza jungle non è ancora terminata e continuano le proposte in tema tropical e botanico. Il mio consiglio è quello di optare per una decorazione che richiami il tema botanico ma in modo più soft. Per non stancare, io ad esempio sceglierei dei motivi tropicali a tonalità neutre, oppure carte da parati con paesaggi naturali a tinte più calde. Se invece volete qualcosa di davvero colorato, un pattern floreale a grande scala è quello che fa per voi.

Always on the Rebel Walls website, I found some really beautiful wallpapers with hand-drawn or stylized subjects, which -in my opinion- are really original but can satisfy also those ones who are looking for a more sober and delicate wall decoration. What do you think? What’s your favorite?
Sempre nel sito Rebel Walls, ho scovato delle proposte davvero belle con soggetti disegnati o stilizzati, che a mio avviso nonostante siano molto originali possono accontentare anche chi cerca una decorazione murale più sobria e delicata. Cosa ne pensate? Qual è la vostra preferita?
