Colour trends in Italian bathroom design #1 / Opalescent effects
Among the most interesting news spotted in terms of colours, I am listing first the new opalescent effects in the bathroom design.
This unique colour effect is obtained thanks to a new material, called Cristalmood, which is an exclusive by antoniolupi. Cristalmood is a resin that is manually poured into moulds. Once extracted, the objects must be finished manually by sanding to remove all imperfections and every object result different from the other.

Made of Cristalmood, Opale is a new washbasin inspired by the reflections of precious stones in 10 colours The washbasin is available in the new decagonal shape or in the more traditional round shape, in the over-top version, or with a column, also cylindrical or prismatic.
Vitreo is another new washbasin made of Cristalmood but in this case, it is a unique piece, a decagonal shape, in ten different translucent colours.
.
Cristalmood is also the material of the new vases collections designed by Calvi Brambilla. Three different forms in ten colours, balancing geometries, thicknesses and shapes, giving life to a harmonious and “natural” whole.

Colour trends in bathroom design #2 / New colours
The products Cristalmood are characterized by bright opalescent colors, available in 10 hues. From lime yellow, to warm and earthy colors such as ambra and ocra, to petrol blue and darks hues of green and grey: the pallette shows pretty well the most current colour trends in bathroom design.

Cristalmood color palette
The brand offers also a wide range of laquered colors; their new color palette for 2019 features two earthy shades, two light greens and two dark blues, in addiction to the wide range of colors already available.
You can then choose a colourful washbasin to stand of from the background or also an integrated washbasin ( like the Strappo, Soffio and the Silenzio ones). In this case, it is a bare washbasin, made entirely of Corian which can perfectly integrate into the wall, then covered in the same colors of the wall.
These colors, together with the 10 colors of the palette in Cristalmood above, they give a pretty interesting overwiew on the latest color trends for bathroom design.

Colour trends in bathroom design #3 / Color Block and geometries
Another colourful inspiration comes from the rugs collection Geometrie Volanti by antoniolupi, designed to complement the bathroom design. Here the key trend in terms of colors is color blocking.
Color blocking is a decoration based on simple volumes and bold colours. The rugs collection is inspired by the artistic avant-gardes of the early twentieth century and the current of minimal art of the end from the 60s reinterpreted in a contemporary and modern way. Signs, geometries, graphics, neutral backgrounds together with colours, for a minimalist yet visual appealing decor.
