5 top FURNITURE TRENDS

from Salone del Mobile

Furniture trend 01 / rounded corners

The resurgence of rounded corners in furniture design not only brings a soft and inviting aesthetic to modern interiors but also addresses ergonomic needs. Departing from sharp angles, this trend offers both style and comfort, making spaces safer, especially for homes with children or pets. From curved edges on tables to contoured seating, designers are embracing this trend to create cozy and welcoming living spaces.

Furniture trend 03 / deconstructed

By intentionally breaking down the traditional forms and structures, in shapes that appear fragmented or abstracted, designers create furniture that challenges conventional notions of aesthetics. Deconstructed shapes often feature asymmetrical lines, irregular angles, and exposed structural elements, offering a sense of rawness and unpredictability inspired by brutalism and in huge contrast with the warm minimalist aesthetic.

Furniture trend 04 / new materials

The design industry is increasingly embracing sustainable materials, with innovations such as biomaterials and recycled plastics leading the trend. Arper’s Catifa Carta redefines its classic chair using PaperShell, a composite wood by-product that sequesters CO2 and is fully disassemblable for minimal environmental impact. On the recycled plastic front, Magis introduced In-side collection, with each piece uniquely characterized by its recycled flake patterns and rich textures.

Furniture trend 05 / outdoor solutions

At the latest Salone del Mobile, outdoor design emerged as a major furniture trend, already started during the past edition and reflecting a growing desire to blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living spaces. Designers showcased innovative collections that emphasized durability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal, suitable for various outdoor environments.
