SHOP IT | Baby Blue Furniture and Decor to Bring Calm to Your Home

Continuing our monthly series of interior colour talks, today we bring you one of the most surprising interior colour trends of 2019 – Baby Blue. Starting from Serenity, one of Pantone Colours of the Year 2016, we’ve seen blue taking many coats from light pastel hues to dark, moody indigos. Blue keeps coming back year after year, and this particular shade of light blue seems to be holding the biggest staying potential. Truth be told, it has always been there, but not in this form. The most popular colour of traditional baby boys’ nurseries has left its cradle and moved to the rooms of grownups.

Let’s discover why this is such great news for us all!

No other colour has the power of evoking calm and refreshment (the very things we crave for these days) like Baby Blue. Lighter than air, it brings the serenity of blue skies into our everyday lives promising freedom, openness, inspiration and much-needed piece of mind. It sparks happiness in its purest form, making us feel like young children trying to catch the waves on a sunny summer afternoon.

Marrying skies with high seas, baby blue brings paradise to our living rooms, helping us find wisdom in stability and confidence.

With this mood board, I aimed for optimism! The idea behind the concept was to bring heaven and Earth together in a symbolic flow of liquid air and seven seas. Dreamy beyond words, this interior concept finds hope where ice and Sun meet. A bit futuristic, it features some of the top interior trends at the moment – vintage classics, a traditional rug, round furniture, dried flowers and magnificent Scandinavian design.

To be honest, before I started creating I was a bit sceptical about how it would turn out as (silly me) I thought blue is not my cup of tea. But it blew me away with its willingness to adapt to any direction I took. Decorating with baby blue is such a breeze!

Could you picture yourself living in this interior? I most definitely could.
