Columbia Road in London, a barking visit to its original indipendent shops

During my last trip in London I had the chance to visit a well known road, even if it’s not a very turistic one, in London East End: Columbia Road.
Famous for its flower market, which takes place every Sunday morning by filling the street with every kind of flowers and plants (and also of a huge crowd of visitors), it’s also an interesting mix of cool shops, many of you probably will not know (as I didn’t) that Columbia Road is one of the few streets in the country composed of just independent shops (sixty, in a really small space!)
….that I would like to show you today for Thursdays Original Interiors.

There’s a lot behind Columbia Road flower market, all the road is really lined with independent unusual shops and cafes: small art galleries, vintage furniture stores, gardening shops, antiques, together with cupcake shops and English delis.
I just got lost behind the flower stalls along the sidewalks and entered in these small original shops, one different from the other…you can even find somebody opening the door of his home for selling homemaden muffins in this road, where time really seems to have stopped…
A comprehensive list of all Columbia Road shops can be find here.
And here some images of the ones that have hitten my attention…Let’s go to Columbia road indipendent shops!
