It’s been a long since the latest home tour, right? Today I’m sharing a very original Scandinavian interior I recently discovered. I think it’s the perfect home tour to follow the latest post, where I listed the trendiest interior finishes at present. Indeed, in this interior raw concrete walls are really a strong design choice and they work really well in this setting.

E’ trascorso un bel po’ di tempo dall’ultimo home tour, vero? Ricomincio con questo interno Scandinavo davvero diverso dai soliti. Si tratta infatti di un appartamento interamente in cemento a vista e mi sembra perfetto per continuare con quanto detto nell’ultimo post, riguardo le finiture di tendenza per il 2018.

No doubt this is a very unusual interior, from a basement makeover.
The design choice was to leave the interior really unfinished, with raw walls in exposed concrete. Or, at least, by creating this raw effect with a limewashed finish with cement effect. The choice is even stronger because walls are matched with a concrete-effect vynil flooring and with an unfinished ceiling, in cement as well.
The raw mood is emphasized by the interior styling, with very few elements in steel and in many different raw woods. Textiles, on the other hand, have a soft and tactile texture, starting from the velvet sofa in ochre yellow. Therefore, this is a perfet Wabi Sabi interior.

Si tratta senza dubbio di un interno molto insolito, ricavato da un piano interrato.
La scelta progettuale è stata quella di lasciare l’interno al grezzo lasciandone le pareti in cemento a vista. O almeno, ricreandone l’effetto con una finitura apposita. Le pareti formano un tutt’uno con il pavimento, in resina effetto cemento, e con il soffitto, anch’esso senza finitura. Una scelta di sicuro molto forte, enfatizzata da uno styling fatto di pochi elementi ma posizionati con estrema cura del dettaglio.
Anche i materiali degli arredi sottolineano il carattere raw dell’interno, con alcuni elementi in acciaio e molti in legno grezzo, di diverse essenze e colorazioni. I tessili hanno invece una texture soffice e tattile, a cominciare dal divano in velluto. Insomma un interno in perfetto mood Wabi Sabi.

Concrete walls interior trend : do you like them or not?
Now I must say I have contrasting feelings about this Scandinavian interior.
On one side, I love some design choices of this home apartment. For example, I really like the kitchenette setting because it is really simple and inexpensive, but in the whole works really well. The kitchenette is actually just made with open shelves and curtains to hide the lower part, everything on view. I also like the idea of characterizing the bedroom with a darker finish.

However, while I think that the styling is perfect, this is not exactly reflecting my ideal place where to stay. Somehow, it remembered the cave house we stayed in Granada during our two weeks tour of Spain, that was a really cool place with its limewashed deep walls and no windows…but actually, not a place where to stay longer than for a holiday.

Un interno interamente in cemento grezzo : si o no?
Ora vi confesso che ho delle sensazioni contrastanti in merito a questo interno Scandinavo.
Da un alto, mi piacciono molto le soluzioni che sono state adottate. A cominciare dall’angolo cottura, che è davvero semplice ed economico, ma nel contesto risulta perfetto: scaffali a vista al posto dei pensili, parte inferiore cons emplici tende al posto delle ante. Perfetto. Non mi dispiace nemmeno la scelta di caratterizzare la camera con una finitura più scura. I love some design choices of this home apartment. Dall’altro lato, mentre trovo che lo styling sia perfetto, non sono sicura che un interno di questo tipo rifletta il mio posto ideale in cui stare. In qualche modo mi ricorda la casa-grotta in cui abbiamo alloggiato a Granada, durante il nostro tour della Spagna di quest’estate : un posto fantastico, con spesse pareti imbiancate a calce, senza finestre, arredo minimale ma molto curato…però non si sarei rimasta per più tempo insomma.
