DESIGN HOTELS | A dream hotel to dream of Finland

Am I the only one that when I come back home from a little vacation I immediately think about the next one? And so it is, after the short Easter break: I find myself thinking and talking about Finland, that will be the next destination of the Pink Dog.

Not so much speaking about an holiday in this case, but rather a travel: that #WEBLOGfinlandia design tour, that we are organizing in a well-matched group of nine bloggers and professionals. I mentioned this here, during this Finnish home tour, remember?

Next weeks we will share in the Facebook page here the itinerary, the stops and the appointments. And on our schedule there was this Dream Hostel & Hotel, if only we didn’t had to cancel our stop in Tampere. What a pity

Too bad, the guys from Dream Hostel have been so kind with us!

And shame as this design hotel have those simple and comfortable interiors, with lots of wood, neutral and light colors, that are just as the Finnish interiors must be in my mind.

Non c’è miglior modo quando si rientra da una piccola vacanza se non pensare alla prossima. Capita anche a voi? E così dopo la brevissima pausa di Pasqua mi ritrovo a parlarvi di Finlandia, perché questa sarà la prossima destinazione del cagnetto.

Certo non parlerei molto di vacanza in questo caso ma piuttosto di un viaggio, di quel #WEBLOGfinlandia che stiamo organizzando in un gruppo ben assortito di nove blogger e professionisti del settore. Ve ne avevo già accennato anche qui, in occasione di un home tour finlandese, ricordate?

Nelle prossime settimane condivideremo nella pagina facebook del tour (a proposito, ce lo mettete un like qui?) le tappe del nostro itinerario, entrando nel vivo della preparazione. E proprio nel nostro tragitto doveva essere il Dream Hostel&Hotel, se non che a causa di un inconveniente abbiamo dovuto cancellare la nostra tappa a Tampere. Peccato

Peccato perché i ragazzi di Dream Hostel erano stati gentilissimi.

E peccato perché questo hotel e ostello aveva tutte le carte in regola della struttura finlandese di design: interni semplici ed accoglienti, tanto legno, tinte neutre e chiare.

That’s how Finnish interiors are, in my imagination: lots of timber wood, white walls, design furniture (how beautiful are those seatings upholstered in wool in gray, green and petrol blue?), carpets in natural fiber, no curtains, everything tidy and warm. Who knows maybe I’m wrong, I can tell you if so only in a few weeks.

Meanwhile, I’m travelling with the imagination between the walls of this design hotel in Finland, designed by Helsinki-based Studio Puisto as an extension of the existing Dream Hostel. With a tight schedule and limited budget.

Actually I think that I’m just sitting there, in that rocking chair down the hallway 😉

Io me li immagino così gli interni in Finlandia: rivestimenti in legno, pareti bianche, qualche arredo di design (belle le sedute rivestite in lana in grigio, verde e blu petrolio), tappeti di fibre naturali, niente tende, tanto ordine. Chi lo sa magari mi sbaglio, ve lo posso dire solo tra qualche settimana.

Intanto mi accontento di viaggiare con la fantasia con queste belle immagini dell’hotel progettato da Studio Puisto, uno studio di progettazione con sede ad Helsinki, come ampliamento (tra l’altro fatto in grande velocità e con bassissimo budget) di un già esistente ostello.

Ora che mi ci fate pensare sono proprio seduta in quella sedia a dondolo in fondo al corridoio 😉
