Trends are much more complex than one might think. Usually, we read about things that are defined as “trendy” on blogs (for example, on italianbark), social media, on fashion, on people’s homes etc. “Trendy things” are actually the tangible result of much bigger changes that affect people’s tastes, psychology, behaviors, and impact their consumption habits and choices. That’s why forecasting “what is going to be trendy” is a very difficult process, which is completely different from spotting “what is trendy” right now. The second one you will usually read about on blogs, social media, magazines, etc.

Trend forecasting instead, is about predicting the future, and this is exactly what trend forecasters do. I am so proud to tell you guys that this year I have worked with some big brands as a trend forecaster. When a brand calls you for a trend consultancy, it means they trust you so much that they look for getting directions from you to make decisions about their products and collections launches.
You will soon understand that I am not doing this alone – I am working on these big consultancies with Soma_studiomilano. We joined forces: I am an expert on colors&decor, they are experts in materials&circular design – and this is our combo.
