Our project for this Milan Design Week 2019

& about the Milan Design Week for a design blogger

I will be in Milan all week long, from Monday to Friday. And I am super excited to tell you that for this Milan Design Week 2019, again, we will work on the N/T editorial project.

N/T is an independent and sponsored-free eBook about the Milan Design Week, featuring the most interesting news and trends from the event and a forecast for the upcoming months.

I created this project last year with the aim of enjoying the Milan Design Week in the way I really  love. That means, by spotting the most interesting news, finding the latest trends, discovering the most interesting talents and designers. Then, storytelling about it. After many years at Salone and Fuorisalone as a design blogger, I understood that if you want to discover and understand things in depth you need lot of time. The Milan event is really huge and at present is the most important design event on a global scale. After last year, I also understood that you need many eyes to see everything and being able to report about it. That’s why this year the team will be larger!

The publication will be totally independent and no-sponsored, for this reason, I’m inviting you to share it and to take part in our project.

I’m explaining to you how in this post.

Milan Design Week 2019 eBook N/T#2 | Topics

N/T is an editorial experiment born last year from a survey launched to blog readers through newsletters. All the chapters and topics covered were in fact the answer to what you would have liked to find in an eBook on Milan Design Week. If you follow this blog for a while and subscribed to the newsletter, you know that I often launch small surveys and this year again the second issue will be the reply to this.

The first Issue of N/T was a massive project, with 168 pages, 90 original photos, 5 exclusive interviews of top International designers, 17000  words,  200+ designs, including established brands, new brands and new design talents, 36 trend forecasts – that are now big trends.

It was the result of sleepless nights, thousands of km walked in Milan, a tons of previews and materials read, of people and designers met, of coffees too. Yes from one side I am quite scared to do this again, but from the other I am so excited and look forward to it.

Milan Design Week 2019 eBook N/T#2 | Team

Luckily, I will not be alone in this project. Together with me, there will be again Grace and Martina helping in editing and in interviewing some top designers. There will be again Davide, with his amazing photos.  There will be also two new people in the MDW team, Ana Luiza and Marlon from SOMA studio , that already curate one column in the blog about circular design. Together with them, I am also working on another big project that is related to this (and different to this, BTW). But, as usual, let’s talk about one thing at a time 😉

I am also really happy to announce that this year italianbark.com is media partner with Ventura Future and Centrale, and Tortona design districts of Fuorisalone!
