The power of one photo: I found this image in Pinterest (find my profile here) and I had a crush with it.
The two-coloured walls are certainly nothing new, but I love here how the idea has been translated into a real “dipping into the blue” concept. Just by adding a bench in the same blu shade, and by painting the lower part of the canvas at the same level. It somehow reminds me of this concept in Rome I also loved at first sight.
The strong blue theme is then refreshed with some color details: the turquoise chandelier (FL/Y by Ferruccio Laviani for Kartell), the retro style stools in powder pink and the stools in brass finish.
I then wanted to know more about this space and found out that this an angle of a gastro-bar in New York called The Upsider.

Potere di un’immagine! Ho scoperto questa foto in Pinterest (trovate il mio profilo qui) e me ne sono innamorata.
Il tema della parete bicolore con fascia inferiore dipinta non è di certo una novità, ma adoro come l’idea si sia tradotta qui in una vera e proprio “immersione nel blu” dell’interno. Grazie semplicemente alla panca nella stessa tonalità di blu, e al quadro parzialmente dipinto allo stesso livello. Mi ricorda il concept di questo progetto romano che mi aveva colpito allo stesso modo.
Il tema del blu, molto forte, viene poi ravvivato da dettagli di colore: dal lampadario turchese (FL/Y di Ferruccio Laviani per Kartell), dagli sgabelli in stile retrò in rosa cipria e da quelli più minimali in finitura ottone.
Ho voluto quindi saperne di più di questa immagine, per scoprire che si tratta dell’angolo di un gastro-bar newyorchese di nome The Upsider.
