I was surprised to notice gold and brass among the most frequent finishes at Milan Salone del Mobile… maybe because in my mind gold is very far from my idea of Italian style minimal design.
In fact, when I think of gold I always think of opulent interiors ,baroquestyle …and I have to say that I have always been a little skeptical about this finish. But I’ve tried to go a little beyond my stereotypes and I’ve looked for images where gold is used as a detail, to add an extra touch. Actually, in some images the golden detail is so small you’ll need to look for with a magnifying glass…but I really find it hard to imagine a different use of this finish!I especially love the match of white and gold, like in Nordic style interiors, but I’ve also found some beautiful combinations with colours ( how gorgeous is the gold matched with the shades of blue? ). Finally, another classical combination , gold and black , for those who love the dark tones: enjoy some ideas in gold interior trend !(ITALIAN VERSION BELOW)
