It’s no secret that the design industry has been relooking the ‘80s and revisiting some of the biggest trends of this craziest of design eras. After Millennial pink and its wild success, the time has come for teal to shine. But just as with almost every other modern interpretation of the retro styles, teal is back in its more calm, sophisticated look.
Dark Teal stands for trustworthiness, reliability and elegance. It marries serenity of blue with the optimism of green. In times when mindfulness and spirituality are slowly gaining ground, it is only natural that we find ourselves lusting over a colour that encourages healing.
When applied in the right way, the understated elegance of Dark Teal can bring a sense of refinement to just about any interior space and give it a royal twist. Graceful, luxurious vibes that are all about grace and modesty. A perfect harmony.
Dark Teal is known to be used as the colour of choice for living room and bathroom designs, both as an accent and dominant colour. It pairs beautifully with gold, brown, coral, white, pink, copper, grey, yellow and maroon.
When I started playing with this mood board, I knew I wanted it to tell a story of the utmost elegance. A feminine living room with a strong reference to the Neo Art Deco interior style, spiced up with some ancient oriental mystery and, of course, houseplants. Velvet and gold played their magic of seduction and created a perfect background for the pendant and artwork to shine.
I don’t know about you, but I am in love!
