I put together several sources in a little big guide -many images and few text- on what’s in & out in interiors and decor this year. I’ve already posted about some of them, others will be on the blog next months; some pics where already on my facebook page, where I tested what really people love in the last two months.
I say ready to disapprove because there are some things I do really love and seems like they will be out soon. It doesn’t matter, trends are there to be unfollowed right? 😉

Ho raccolto dalla rete un bel po’ di informazioni e ne ho fatto una piccola guida, tante immagini e poco testo, di quel che è in&out per questo 2017. Di alcuni vi ho già parlato qui, di altri ve ne parlerò meglio nei prossimi mesi. Alcune foto le ho postate in pagina facebook tra gennaio e febbraio, per testarne il reale gradimento delle persone. Insomma, ho messo insieme un po’ tutto e creato questo mega post.
Dicevo sopra: criticare, si perché su alcune cose non sono d’accordo nemmeno io. Che poi alla fine lo sappiamo, le mode ci sono, ma quello che conta davvero sono i gusti di ciascuno. La casa non è altro che lo specchio di ciò che siamo, non di quello che ci impongono i trend.
Ciò detto……le regole sono fatte per essere infrante, le mode per essere distrutte? Che ne pensate? 😉
INTERIOR TRENDS 2017 || What’s IN and what’s OUT
IN | MIX & MATCH || OUT | TOTAL LOOK
Same as not matching bags and shoes in the same colour.
There is nothing more boring and out than a “total look” in one style or same brand, without any element of contrast. Just add a vintage piece in a minimal space, or simply try with different chairs!
E’ un po’ come il principio di non abbinare le scarpe con la borsa.
Mi scontro quotidianamente con clienti che comprerebbero cucina e living della stessa marca, e con arredatori che ovviamente spingono la cosa. Non c’è niente di più arretrato e noioso di un arredo “total look” che non abbia nessun elemento di rottura e di contrasto. Basta un mobile vintage in uno spazio minimal, oppure provate semplicemente a scombinare le sedie!

Experts almost unanimously agree that copper and rose gold will be out by 2017. I think we just saw too much copper in last years, right?
Gli esperti sono praticamente tutti concordi nel dire che rame e oro rosa sono out nel 2017. Penso ne abbiamo semplicemente visto troppo in questi anni di rame, ora basta!

IN | BLACK EVERYWHERE || OUT | TOTAL WHITE
Furniture, walls, furnishing, textiles and ceramics – in black. The taste is mooving towards moody and dramatic looks after years of total white.
However…I’m on the white side, just have a look at my studio website or my instagram. this is just my style and I’m not changing it for sure!
Arredi, pareti, accessori, ceramiche – in nero. E’ evidente che il gusto si sta spostando verso atmosfere più scure dopo anni di total white.
Sarà vero ma…io resto decisamente con il bianco. Basta vedere il mio instagram e sito per capirlo 😉

Same thing as point before: untreated and light wood has been the most sought after, but this year, the material well have an old touch and go in the dark tones. Uhm.

Working with different paint on the walls, featuring one main hue and then other graded tones, is much more interesting than total white walls. Tone-on-tone palettes can work in earthy palettes, in blue paints, in green paints, also in pink and in dark greys.

IN | STATEMENT PRINT || OUT | CLUSTER WALL GALLERY
One or two large prints, or maybe one oversize mirror, are the decorative solutions that replace the beloved gallery walls.
However I’m not taking off the cluster wall decor I have at home, just to let you know!
Una o due stampe di grandi dimensioni, o magari uno specchio oversize, sono soluzioni decorative che si vedono sempre più spesso, mentre stanno scomparendo le tanto amate gallery wall.

IN | ABSTRACT PRINTS || OUT | QUOTE ARTWORKS
After years of popularity, consumers will predictably move away from quote artworks. This breaks my heart and probably yours as well, but that is.
Prints with abstract decor, gradients, but also oil-paintings and botanical subjects are replacing art quotes. Not in my home, however.
Dopo anni di grande popolarità, le stampe con frasi e quote sono diventate out. A me piange il cuore e forse anche a te, ma pare sia cosi.
Al loro posto, dipinti con motivi astratti, gradazioni di colore, temi botanici. Non a casa mia, comunque.
IN | ALCOVES || OUT | OPEN SPACE
Sure saying that open spaces are out is an overstatement (even if i read this in several sources). But the trend is more and more towards welcoming spaces, towards that hygge concept that is so popular today. The result in the layout are cozy corners, alcoves, partitions in smaller spaces, rather than creating large open spaces
Certo dire che gli open space sono out è un azzardo, chiaro. Ma il trend è quello di andare sempre più verso spazi accoglienti, verso quel concetto di hygge che è così popolare oggi. E questo tradotto in pianta significa creare angoli cozy, suddividere gli spazi, più che creare grandi open space
IN | RANDOM PATTERN || OUT | HERRINGBONE
Pattern, pattern, pattern: geometric mixed with vintage, colourful, tropical, with natural themes (butterfly?), abstracts. Pattern mix and layering is the perfect way to add interest and depth to any new space. Traditional geometric patterns such as herringbone and chevron by their own are out: let’s dare soemthign new!

Il trucco è accostarne di diversi, giocando con layer, forme e colori. A discapito dei motivi geometrici più tradizionali, come la spina di pesce e il chevron: c’è voglia di novità nell’aria!
IN | DEEP SOFAS || OUT CHESTERFIELD SOFAS
Be warned: industrial furniture is on the “lose” side. Chesterfield is just an example, but same thing could be talking about industrial style stools or subway tiles, or even the bare bulbs. Too much inflated, that’s the point.
Pare che lo stile industriale ci stia lasciando. Ho preso il chesterfield come esempio, ma potevi dirvi ad esempio anche gli sgabelli in stile industriale, o le piastrelle subway, o addirittura le lampadine appese con cavo. Tutto bello ma ormai troppo inflazionato.
IN RATTAN&BAMBOO || OUT | MACRAME’
In 2017 we will see lots of natural materials such as rattan, cork, bamboo. And finally, let’s say this: bye bye macramé!
Nel 2017 si vedranno tanti materiali naturali, primi fra tutti rattan, sughero, bamboo. E finalmente, diciamolo: addio macramé!
