DESIGN TRENDS | Decorating with Colored concrete effect tiles

Concrete has been since ages once of the favorite materials between architects, hugely back on trend before with all the industrial-style interiors and lately with the return of brutalism in interiors and design.

Even if at first we could think concrete is quite a cold (and boring) material, actually cement is an amazingly versatile finish that can be also treated as a decorative element. Available in many different finishes and in the colored version, concrete can really give an interior a unique twist .

There are a myriad of custom concrete options for homes and it can be incorporated as a material for floorings and walls, together with structural elements, but also in some furniture pieces such as for example kitchen countertops and sinks.

If you love the raw and industrial look typical of concrete, but you are looking for something much easier and less expensive, there is also the option of concrete effect tiles. I am actually not a fun of the materials-looking-like-other-materials, but this is the case when considering the ceramic option of the real material could be really a smart choice, both in terms of costs and practicality.

Today I am introducing you a new collection for cement effect tiles by an Italian brand, Casalgrande Padana, which is perfect to decorate home.

Decorating with Colored concrete effect tiles

R-Evolution is a new collection by Italian ceramic brand Casalgrande Padana with cement-effect tiles in a range of different beautiful colors.

I was talking about this collection in our E-Book : Surface Design Trends 2020 where I collected the most interesting ceramics from the last Cersaie fair: in fact, I remember that its color palette already caught my attention during the event.

The colors range from more neutrals options, such as whites, sand and taupe, to some colors inspired to nature like blues, earth and green, to a beautiful accent in pink.

The tiles finish is matt and you can choose between a range of different formats, the bigger one of 90×180 cm.

Colored concrete effect tiles can actually give a wide range of creative options to decorate an interior.

You could choose for example to cover floors and walls, for a total look effect, in the same finish, or working with a pair of opposite colors to create a visually strong effect. Tour can choose to cover only some areas of your rooms, or for example covering also some furniture elements such as kitchen island to create an interesting effect of continuity in the surfaces.

Be inspired by the different colors of the R-Evolution tiles and by the range of colors.
