ITALIAN DESIGN | Cabinets inspired by Tokyo buildings: Toshi by Casamania

italian sideboard design, casamania, lucanichetto

Toshi is a family of Italian sideboards produced by Casamania. Designed by Luca Nichetto, it was presented for the first time at Milan 2013 iSaloni.

“Toshi” in Japanese means ‘City’. Indeed, the inspiration for the design comes from the mosaic decorations that can be found in some buildings in Tokyo.
The design is identified by a clear and essential shape, with a grid pattern which is carved on each side of them. Love also their pastel palette.

The geometrical pattern for every piece of furniture is different in size and height, with its own distinct design, making the module unique. as to convey an even more interesting look to the collection. Two types of legs are available for each cabinet: one is a simple base, the other is higher and has a squared metal. Together with the cabinets, there are three different small containers which aesthetically complete the Toshi family.

Linear and clean design for these Italian sideboards, which seen in group really make me think of Tokyo skyline, an amazing city in which I’ve been a few years ago and it’s still in my heart.

Love it!
