Living rooms are repurposed to accommodate different aspects of our lives as we spend more time at home due to pandemic restrictions. Gym, home cinema, home office, children’s playground, small gatherings with family and friends are some of the living room functions. 

At the same time, living spaces are still required, now more than ever, to be our domestic refuge where we can relax and cocoon while expressing our personalities and sharing our tastes and memories. Living rooms have become the soul of our homes, a room in constant transformation, filled with a sense of nostalgia, longing for meaning and escapism. 

From emerging lifestyle trends such as cottagecore to a renewed interest in natural materials like rattan, from statement art to comfy furniture, there are plenty of choices to design living rooms that reflect who we are and yet feel welcoming, we have explored the next trends in the living room design in our new Trend Report.
