Who said that in wintertime we cannot spend time outdoors anymore?
I actually love spending time outside even during the cold season, on the precious sunny days during winter time. Luckily, in my place the weather is never too cold and even in the colder months there are some sunny days when you can enjoy a walk and staying outside. Also, we are already in November but here the temperatures are still quite high and it is not yet time to lock up at home.
It is crucial then, in order to be able to use the garden in winter too, to choose outdoor furniture which can resist during colder months. If you love natural wood as I do, my advice is to opt for outdoor furniture in teak, which is the strongest wood.
Why choosing outdoor furniture in teak
Teak is a tropical wood made from Tectona, that is a tree from the Southern and South-east Asia. It is a wooden essence with amazing properties: resistant to temperature changes, saltiness and humidity, it was used during the centuries in the shipbuilding industry as well as in the building industry. Teak also has a pleasant color that changes with light exposure and with the passage of time, assuming golden veins. This is why teak is the perfect wood for outdoor furniture to be kept outdoors all year long.
Today I selected for you some outdoor teak furniture from the Italian brand Unopiù, which is well known for its garden furniture. It must also be said that teak wood is classified in 5 different quality and Unopiù only choose the “Grade A”, the most valuable category, which is obtained from the central part of the trunk and therefore has a more regular grain.

Chi l’ha detto che in inverno non si può più trascorrere tempo all’aria aperta?
E’ invece secondo me molto bello trascorrere il tempo fuori casa anche durante la stagione fredda, nelle preziose giornate di sole invernali. Tra l’altro, siamo già a Novembre ma qui le temperature sono ancora piuttosto alte e non è ancora giunta l’ora di rinchiudersi in casa.
Essenziale per poter sfruttare al meglio lo spazio giardino è scegliere degli arredi outdoor in un materiale resistente, in modo da poterli lasciare fuori tutto l’anno. Se come me amate il legno naturale, il consiglio è quello di optare per arredi in teak, legno da esterni per eccellenza.
Perché scegliere arredi per esterni in teak?
Il teak è un legno tropicale ricavato dalla Tectona, è un albero originario del sud e del sud-est asiatico. E’ un’essenza dalle proprietà ineguagliabili: resistente agli sbalzi di temperatura, alla salsedine, all’umidità, da secoli viene impiegato nell’industria navale nonché nell’edilizia. E’ anche un legno con una piacevole colorazione che cambia con l’esposizione alla luce e con il passare del tempo, assumendo delle venature dorate. Per questo il teak è il legno perfetto per arredi da lasciare all’aperto tutto l’anno, a patto di dedicarci un po’ di tempo alla loro manutenzione con prodotti specifici.
Oggi ho selezionato per voi alcuni arredi in teak per l’outdoor dal marchio italiano Unopiù , specializzato proprio in arredi giardino.
