Pantone 2017 was revealed just a couple of days ago and we are all already in love with it: Greenery (Pantone 13-0343)

Greenery is the symbol of new beginnings, a refreshing and revitalizing shade of green with a really small dose of yellow. This fresh and zesty yellow-green shade evokes the first days of spring, talks about nature’s greens revive, and it’s a call for people to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.

Greenery is an omnipresent hue around the world, the natural hue of grass and foliage. It’s been also widely used in architecture, graphics and design and once you start looking for it, you will start seeing it everywhere.

I was quite sure about a green to be the colour of the year 2017, but actually this yellow-green shade surprised me because I was thinking of a less lively colour hue.

Greenery è simbolo di un nuovo inizio, una tonalità rinfrescante di verde con una piccola dose di giallo. E’ un colore che fa pensare ai primi giorni di primavera, e un invito alle persone a vivere in armonia con la natura, a fare una pausa e un bel respiro, a ricominciare.

Greenery è un colore presente ovunque perché non è altro che il verde del prato e delle foglie in primavera. E’ anche largamente utilizzato in architettura, nel design e nella grafica, e vedrete che non appena iniziate a cercarlo lo troverete praticamente dappertutto.

Io ero sicura che il colore del prossimo anno fosse un verde, ma in realtà pensavo ad una tonalità diversa, di sicuro meno vivace.

Color of the year 2017 makes me think of greens and foliage, of course. But evokes also far eastern atmospheres, of paddy fields and of matcha tea powders. It makes me think of the travel I did last summer in Malesia, but also to the green fields near my home. I also realized it is a lively but somehow a neutral hue since it can pair with many different colours, from the pastels of Pantone 2016 rose and serenity, to the darkest hues of blues, even to the most vitaminic ones of yellow and orange.

Andando alla ricerca di immagini sul tema Pantone 2017: Greenery, le ispirazioni sono state innumerevoli.

Il colore del 2017 mi fa ovviamente pensare a prati e foglie in primavera, ma non solo. Secondo me evoca anche atmosfere orientali, di risaie e di tè matcha, mi fa pensare allo stesso tempo alle facciate viste quest’estate in Malesia e ai campi dietro casa. Mi sono anche resa conto che è una tonalità forte e vivace ma in un certo senso neutra perché si sposa benissimo con colori molto diversi, dalla coppia pastello del Pantone 2016, ai blu più scuri, infine a colori molto vitaminici come giallo e arancio.
