Industrial style bar design:
be inspired by The Nelsons, a rustic and industrial bar design in Melbourne with industrial and vintage mood
For this Thursdays Original Interiors post let’s go virtually back in Australia to visit a rustic and industrial bar design I’ve discovered in beautiful blog Desire to Inspire. The Nelson bar is located in St.Kilda and has been designed by Techné Architecture + Interior Design design firm.

A rustic industrial bar design in Melbourne
I love The Nelson interior for its mix between three different interior styles, the rustic, the industrial and the maritime one. Indeed, this industrial bar is located in a bayside location, and its main offering of rum makes it somehow like a modern buccaneer ill. However, here the maritime athmospheres are evoked in a smart way, without banalities, see for example the wide hand painted mural of a mythical sea creature by artist Dexter Rosengrave.
Everything else reminds of passage of time, with consumed walls and recycled timbers recovered from the Docklands. Actually the same one that has been used for the central counter which runs centrally through most of the longitudinal space.
Finally…have a look at second to last pic: how beautiful is that detail of the leather lace which hangs the leather bench cushions to the wall?
