For the 4th of CHRISTMASBARK |

We fly to Scandinavia today, precisely to Denmark, guests at ViSSEVASSE e-shop. I already posted some “stolen” pictures of these beautiful posters in 10 lessons to learn from Scandinavian style here: I had a crush with these vintage Scandi poster since the very first time I saw them.!

A little bit more about the brand first: ViSSEVASSE was founded in 2013 Dorthe Mathiesen and Karsten Noel, and launched Langebro as the first city poster. The style since the beginning referred to 1930s vintage with the mint/turquoise athmospheres of the era, and soon expanded to feature several landmarks from Denmark, then to Norway and Sweden, and other European cities.

Their nostalgic mood is really unique, as well as their perspectives. In fact, Dorthe always visits the selected places with her camera to get the angle and the visual first-hand impressions in place, then she returns to the studio and draw the posters, often enriching them by informative and inspiring stories about places that carry special meaning to people.

’Many have encouraged me to make a poster from their city or country, and some people have written to tell me that I misspelled the abbreviated names of the cities. But there is a graphic point to it. The abbreviations are about visual balance and a mental gimmick – you think you’re reading something else, because you’re used to seeing the name of the city spelled like that’

Love the muted palettes of these posters. It’s like travelling in different places, and back in time, with a Scandi point of view.

ViSSEVASSE collection it’s not just about cities, but it features also several other beautiful subjects, from typography to botanical ones.
