Time for greetings, 2016 best and a present for you

Time for greetings today and for a goodbye, before seeing each other in 2017.

It’s been really an amazing year, made of satisfactions, a life change, many travels, many new collaborations. I have to be grateful for this, and first of all say thanks to each one of you!

It’s also been a really busy year: now even more than ever I just need a break, I must say this.

It’s true: this (and that) is a beautiful job, and for the new year I can’t ask any different than keeping doing all this, with same passion and energy.

But you should know that it is also a job made of many ups and downs. It’s really time and force consuming working as freelance, only who does the same work can understand me properly. There are bills to be paid, late payments, moments of loneliness, days of thousand hours of work because of deadlines overlap, days of mails without any replies, days of tiredness.

But I wouldn’t want my job changed for anything in the whole world, and thinking back to this in 2016 I believe it even more.

I give you my best wishes for this Christmas and a gift:

It’s the book of our travel in Helsinki, Finland:

It’s a very personal storytelling and a small travel guide, at the same time. Each one of us chose a verb to be associated with the city, to describe Helsinki in a personal point of view and with practical addresses. My word is living: it’s also the verb of all the travels I do, as I was telling you here.

We thought there was no better time than Christmas to share this book, first because Finland is somehow synonymous with Christmas (santa claus eh eh), then because it’s a way for doing a recap of this beautiful year. For us, the week in Finland was the real beginning of our WEBLOG: already told you here about beautiful things that are born a little bit’ by chance, but nothing that is born by chance can keep and grow without hard work. We deserve a break, and probably you deserve it as well, don’t you? 🙂

I wish you to spend these festive days seeking and finding the beautiful things around you!

Oggi è già ora di salutarci per un po’, prima di rivederci nel 2017.

E’ stato un anno davvero incredibile, fatto di tante soddisfazioni, di un piccolo cambio di vita, di tanti viaggi, di tante nuove collaborazioni. Devo essere davvero grata di questo e innanzitutto dire un grande grazie a tutti voi che seguite questo blog.

E’ stato anche un anno faticoso: adesso come non mai ho proprio bisogno di una pausa, lo ammetto.

E’ vero: questo (e questo) è un lavoro bellissimo, e se dovessi chiedere qualcosa per l’anno nuovo chiederei di continuare proprio a portare avanti tutto questo, con la stessa passione ed energia.

Ma dovete sapere che è anche un lavoro fatto di tanti alti e bassi, di tanti momenti no. Ci vuole davvero tanta forza per intraprendere una carriera da freelance, solo chi fa il mio stesso lavoro può capirmi al 100%. Ci sono i conti da fare a fine mese, i pagamenti da sollecitare, i momenti di solitudine, le giornate fatte di mille ore perché ti si sovrappongono le consegne, le mail mandate a vuoto, le giornate di stanchezza.

Ma non lo cambierei per niente al mondo e ripensando a questo 2016 lo credo ancora di più.

E’ il book del nostro viaggio in Finlandia:

E’ allo stesso tempo, un racconto molto personale e una piccola guida di viaggio per chi avesse in mente di visitare la splendida Helsinki. Ognuno di noi ha scelto un verbo e lo ha associato alla città, con a una visione del tutto personale di quanto visto, indirizzi pratici per vederlo. Il mio verbo è living: mi rispecchia molto perché è un po’ anche il verbo di tutti i viaggi che faccio (ve ne parlavo qui, di come vivere i viaggi in modo personale).

Abbiamo pensato che non ci fosse momento migliore del Natale per condividerlo, un po’ perché Finlandia nell’immaginario comune è sinonimo di Natale (babbo), un po’ come conclusione di quest’anno. Per noi, questa settimana in Finlandia è stata un po’ il vero inizio del nostro WEBLOG : di come le cose belle nascano un po’ per caso già ve ne parlavo qui, anche se diciamolo niente di ciò che nasce per caso può continuare e crescere senza tanto lavoro. Mi sa che una bella pausa ce la meritiamo un po’ tutti, e secondo me anche voi che leggete questo post ora 🙂
