MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2014 | Two steps in Gibus stand at Salone del Mobile

Hope you have readen yesterday post! I’ve put together the main interior design trends I’ve spotted at Milan design fair. Last, but not least, there was yellow, as a must colour shade that I’ve seen both in many design products and among the stands. Yellow is the colour that reminds more of light and sun, of vivacity and brightness, but also of summer, and that’s why is one of my favourite colour hues…
Therefore I couldn’t notice a stand that was a real “spot light” among the exhibitors at the Salone del Mobile, the Gibus one.
The well-known brand of outdoor furniture has set up a very special space, more than just an exhibit of its flagship lines (including the famous “Sun Room”), but a real multi-media space where people can meet all the company’s products together with the accompaniment of music.

Sun and music are in fact the starting point of the concept of the stand display, and that’s why Gibus gadgets this year were some yellow flutes (among the myriad of gadgets, I have to say that this was one is the most original one…It’s a real dive in the past, I bet that you were playing it at school while breaking your mother’s eardrums!)

Sun and music are the themes at the heart of all communication of the company’s flagship concept, the “Room of the Sun“: an outdoor space with all the comforts of enclosed spaces, in which you can relax, having lunch, spending time with friends , preferably with some music in background  (why not, maybe with “Let the sunshine in“, the song composed by Thomas Cappellato, Andrea Lombardini and Alfonso Santimone, jazz musicians, and Ty le Blanc, American singer, for Gibus …)

A true outdoor room that can be enriched with many features, in order to make it a real room of the house “transplanted” in our garden … stained glass wind deflector, wood decking or composite wood and HDPE (such as this one in photo), heating and refreshing mats, led lights.
I’m already dreaming of my future office being a “sun room”, you know I hate so much spending all this time in front a pc indoor, this could be the ideal compromise for me!

Gibus standhad also an interesting preview:the prototypeMed Fly Square, a new line with freestanding towel Fly which is characterized by very clean lines, thanks to the joint between the leg and a sharp edge guide. I’ve seen it by real and I would have no doubt in chosing this kind of coverage for my garden corner!
