The history of Fortuny lamps in Venice
Today I’m sharing some original photos I’ve taken in Venice of one of the Venetian most famous products, Fortuny lamps, in an upcoming opening near Guggenheim museum.
Fortuny is a brand with an unique lamp design, very modern while traditional, very trendy at present. This floor lamp designed in far 1907 by Marià Fortuny Madrazo, also known by the name Mariano Fortuny (Granada, May 11, 1871 – Venice, May 3, 1949), Spanish painter, designer and set designer.
It’s dynamic line makes this object contemporary although it has more than one hundred years. This beautiful floor lamp is formed by a huge light projector which produces very intersting lighting effects, because the bulb is turned inward and is projected on a fabric used as reflective.
