TIPTOE is the first design crush (100% Parisienne) I’m sharing today from my days at Maison et Objet 2016 . The brand concept is really simple: create your own table by legs and top assembly.

When I received their news a few time ago I immediately wanted to study better this idea of a meccano in actual scale: I found out that this brand was born from two French friends, Kevin and Matthieu, who realized how many times their friends have troubles in finding the perfect table or coffee table for their homes.

That’s why they designed one simple adjustable table leg in steel, in just two measures: one for tables (the Grand Pied, 75 cm height) and one for coffee tables ( the Petit Pied, 40 cm height). That’s it!

TIPTOE è il primo colpo di fulmine (tutto parigino) che volevo condividere con voi da Maison et Objet 2016. L’idea alla base del brand è semplicissima: comporre un tavolo personalizzato grazie ad un montaggio di gambe e ripiani.

Quando ho ricevuto le loro anteprime qualche tempo fa ho voluto subito saperne di più di questo semplice concept ispirato all’idea dell’arredo come gioco, di questi meccani in scala reale. E ho scoperto che il brand nasce dall’idea di due amici –Kevin e Matthieu– che hanno ragionato su una semplice necessità: quella di comporre il tavolo o il tavolino da caffé perfetto.

Così hanno progettato delle gambe regolabili in acciaio laminato e verniciato dal design minimale e unico in due misure: una per tavoli da pranzo o scrivanie, una per tavolini da caffè.

Table legs (“pieds”, in French) can then be added to your recovered top, or to a top you can choose from a set of different tables tops produced by TIPTOE. So your brand new custom table is ready!

Simple, cheap and beautiful: that table legs indeed have an unique design with an industrial touch, thanks to their material, yet a French mood with their tapered light shape.
