Looking for ideas for decorating a wall with paintings and prints?

Of course, there are billions way for decorating walls with canvas. But the truth is that when you find yourself piercing the wall to hang your pictures, you realize that is more difficult than it seems.

I thought about giving you today some simple and fast diagrams for doing this: creating a gallery wall is something that need to be designed and planned before. As a start, choose between these three options:

Di possibli composizioni, e ne sono di tutti i tipi. La verità è che quando ci si ritrova a bucare la parete per andare poi ad appendere i nostri quadri, l’impresa si rivela più difficile di quanto sembra.

Ho pensato di darvi nel post di oggi qualche semplice dritta e qualche schema facile da cui poter trarre spunto: mai improvvisare, ma cercate di prefigurarvi prima come sarà la vostra composizione. intanto, partendo da una di queste tipologie:

la decorazione murale simmetrica
la decorazione murale asimmetrica
la decorazione murale “a grappolo” (cluster in inglese)

It ‘s really a matter of personal taste to choose one type or the other.

But some small tips are common to all of them: first, remember to start by identifying the gallery wall height, that is the lower limit and the upper one, within them you will hang your pictures (unless you want to fill the wall floor to ceiling! Love this option). Then, find the symmetry axis and vertical reference lines; finally, create your composition on the floor and see if it works geometrically.

In fact, also those “cluster” compositions with a very very casual look actually follow some geometrical lines, so that the final composition appears balanced in an optical level (see the diagrams)

Remember that if there are other elements in addition to the paintings, as for example in the diagrams there’s that cluster lamp, they must be taken into consideration in the final balance of the composition.

E’ davvero questione di gusto personale scegliere un tipo piuttosto dell’altro.

Ma alcuni piccoli accorgimenti sono comuni a tutte: ovvero, iniziare individuare l’altezza, cioè il limite inferiore o superiore entro cui appendere i quadri (a meno che non vogliate riempire la parete da terra a cielo!); trovare asse di simmetria e linee di riferimento verticali; infine, ricreare la nostra composizione a terra e vedere se geometricamente funziona, per non avere poi brutte sorprese una volta appesi i quadri.

Anche le composizioni a “cluster” che sembrano molto casuali in realtà vanno pensate seguendo delle linee geometriche guida, in modo che la composizione finale risulti bilanciata a livello ottico (vedi schema sotto)

Ricordate che se ci sono poi altri elementi oltre ai quadri stessi, come nello schema la lampada a grappolo, vanno tenuti da conto nell’equilibrio finale della composizione.
