Since few days there’s a new lamp in my home. And a new small ecosystem.
It is called Pickle and it’s produced by Spruitje, an idea by Jonael van der Sloot, a young Dutch designer based in Amsterdam.
Quite obsessed with greens and ecosystems, he spent years by studying how to put living ecosysteems into interior and design. The result are different kind of cool vintage lamps with industrial style, inspired by 70’s and science fiction.

Pickle is one of his green vintage lights: a lamp with an ecosystem inside it, that will change naturally its look according to the changes of the greens inside it.
The cool thing is that every lamp is unique: you receive the lamp and have fun in assembling the interior and it’s different layers. Put the gravels one, the topsoil, the moss, and then you are ready to plant your succulents. This is the right combination of plants and moss to create a world of self-sufficient raw nature.
I got everything in my mail package as well 🙂 Now I’m giving Prickle water and really curious to see how it is going to change!

Da qualche giorno ho in casa una lampada nuova. Una lampada molto particolare, visto che dentro ci sta crescendo un ecosistema.
Si chiama Pickle ed è prodotta da Spruitje, brand del giovane designer olandese Jonael van der Sloot.
Una certa ossessione con tutto ciò che è green lo ha portato a studiare per anni come fare a portare un ecosistema verde vivente nell’interior e nel design. Uniteci una passione per i film di fantascienza e per gli anni ’70 e il risultato sono le sue uniche lampade vintage con stile industriale che vedete qui.

Pickle è una delle sue lampade da tavolo vintage: dentro c’è un vero e proprio ecosistema, che cresce, cambia, si modifica con il passare del tempo.
E quindi ogni lampada è unica: ho ricevuto la lampada vuota e l’ho riempita io con i vari strati verdi, anch’essi nella confezione. Il ghiaino, il terriccio, il muschio, e infine ci pianti le piantine grasse. Pare sia la combinazione perfetta che permette a questo ecosistema di vivere qui dentro, speriamo a lungo: io sto iniziando a dargli da bere, sono proprio curiosa di vedere come cambia nel tempo il mio Prickle!
