Back from an inspiring weekend in Turin, and from Operae, the Indipendent Design Festival. This year Operae Torino choose a special location: Palazzo Cavour, a stunning Baroque palace that it’s worth the visit even for itself!
Oggi, di ritorno da un weekend molto interessante a Torino, e per la prima volta da Operae, il Festival del Design Indipendente. Per quest’anno Operae 2015 aveva scelto una sede privilegiata: lo storico Palazzo Cavour, casa per molti anni dell’omonimo conte. Una scenografia barocca stupenda che da sola valeva la visita!

“QUI / ORA – IO / NOI. Piemonte Handmade” opened this edition of Operae. the exhibit, curated by Angela Rui, showed twelve unique projects born from the partnership between twelve Italian designers and twelve artisans from Piemonte, as a meaningful way for design and crafts to work together.
La mostra “QUI / ORA – IO / NOI. Piemonte Handmade”, curata da Angela Rui, ha aperto l’edizione di Operae 2015. La selezione comprende dodici opere uniche, progetti nati dalla collaborazione tra dodici artigiani piemontesi e dodici designer italiani, a rappresentare l’ incontro tra design e artigianato.

Studio Laura Daza | Colour Provenance & Burnt sienna, based on a visual investigation into the ancient origins of colour pigments

Josefina Munoz | Paysages Desértiques, the beautiful dishes series by a product designer from Argentina

Maddalena Selvini | S.Pot is a set of design pots for cooking and warming up in “Pietra Ollare”, a specific soapstone from Valtellina. They are designed to be piled together on the same fire and each piece is handmade according to an old craft that is slowly being forgotten

Pòrtego | is a new brand which put together artisans and designers from Veneto, with projects inspired by local environment. Indeed, /Pòr-te-go/ means “porch” in Venetian dialect
