DESIGN STAY | Sleeping in the most beautiful pueblo blanco in Spain

Today let’s enjoy a break from autumn and go back to summertime, to sunny Andalusia. I want to tell you about the best pueblo blanco in Spain, where I stayed during our drive tour in Spain.

Andalusia is famous for its whitewashed villages and most of them are located in the hinterland and the mountains, along a famous route known as the Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos.

Vejer de la Frontera instead is located just ten kilometers from the seaside and that’s sure one of the reasons why I felt in love with this place.

Vejer de la Frontera

You will find this beautiful place driving 50 km south from Cadiz and will see it from a distance as it is located up on an hill, surrounded by white walls. The most fascinating area is the Juderia, that is the oldest and highest area of the village.

Just a few km from the village you can then reach the beautiful beaches of Costa de la Luz: Conil de la Frontera, El Palmar, Los Canos de la Meca, Barbate and Zahara de los Atunes (my favourite)

This summer when I stayed in Vejer I used to wake up early (that for Spanish means: 9 am!) and to have a walk up and down in the historical center with my camera on my neck.

Enjoy some pics, what a nostalgia!

Vejer de la Frontera, Where to Stay | Hotel V

We stayed in a boutique hotel in the highest area of Vejer, Hotel V.

It is a very intimate design hotel with just 12 bedrooms, a beautiful private court and an a-m-a-z-i-n-g roof terrace from where you can see all the village and surroundings.

It is furnished in a rustic modern style which perfectly suits the building architecture. Indeed, it is an historic 17th century manor house in the middle of the old Juderia, transformed into a cosy boutique hotel. The mix of old and new, antique Portuguese furniture and design pieces, teak and rosewood, white washed walls, and polished concrete floors create a beautiful balance and unique interior design.
