Ventura Centrale 2019, the Previews from the most instagrammed place at Fuorisalone

The very best previews of the Milan Fuorisalone 2019 handpicked by ITALIANBARK

The Milan Fuorisalone is the set of events distributed in different areas (design districts) of Milan on the same days when the Salone Internazionale del Mobile takes place.

Ventura Centrale district debut was during the Fuorisalone 2017 and it was really a huge succes. Actually, the location in the abandoned warehouses underneath Milan’s Central Station in 2018 was the most instagrammed one last year and expectations are running high for this year.

Ventura Centrale 2019 will expand this year, from nine to fifteen vaults. Many international companies will present their work at Ventura Centrale this year: Maarten Baas (The Netherlands), Aria (Italy), Noroo Group (Korea), AGC (Japan), Lavazza and Gufram (Italy), Rapt Studio (US), Sky-Frame (Switzerland), Lensvelt & Modular (The Netherlands, Belgium), Weltevree(The Netherlands), FREITAG (Switzerland), TAKT PROJECT (Japan), Yamaha Corporation Design Laboratory (Japan), Cosentino (Spain), Humanscale (US), DNP (Japan), dpot modern and contemporary Brazilian furniture (Brazil). Let’s see more in details some of the previews.

Location | Via Ferrante Aporti 15

Sky-Frame + Stephan Hürlemann

After the amazing ‘Giants with Dwarf‘ of last year, designer Stephan Huerlemann will curate together with Sky-Frame the A Piece of Sky exhibit: a thought-provoking interactive installation aiming to create feelings of positivity amongst visitors.

DNP (DAI NIPPON PRINTING CO., LTD.)

DNP, Dai Nippon Printing is one of the biggest printing companies in Japan. DNP is making its debut at Fuorisalone 2019 by changing the look of the vaults with their latest material, the ‘ electronic paper’.

AGC Asahi Glass

Japanese AGC Asahi Glass, the world’s leading manufacturer of glass, chemicals and high-tech materials (amd in my opinion one of the most interesting exhibitors last here at Centrale), will be back again this year. The installation this time will be curated by Keita Suzuki.

Lensvelt

Lensvelt will be at Ventura Centrale together with Modular Lighting Instruments, an  high-end architectural lighting brand.

Maarten Baas

This year, instead of presenting a new product, Baas presents an installation. It’s the world premiere of this new work, and visitors are invited to participate in this unique experience.

Rapt Studio

The first exhibit in Ventura Centrale of the interdisciplinary studio will be called Tell me More and it will challenge visitors to see their surroundings through a new lens. It promises to leave you with a story worth telling.

Weltevree

The Dutch Weltevree will transfor one of the vaults of Centrale in the Weltevree Unplugged, an oasis where you will be encouraged to activate and enrich the use of your environment.

Cosentino

The worldwide leader in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for architecture and design, presents their collaboration with designer Benjamin Hubert of LAYER titled Raytrace. An immersive, architectural installation 25 meter long and 6 meter high composed of Dekton ultracompact surfaces.

Freitag

“Instead of talking about good design in Milan, why don’t we take a look at bad design?” asked Swiss bag maker FREITAG and artist Georg Lendorff. It would be more fun, more honest and more exciting.
