Its the coldest day of the year so far here in Milano, and winter seems to have arrived early!

Although the cold season depresses some of us, I must admit its my favorite time of the year. Christmas lights are finally going up and the streets are packed with holiday shoppers searching for the best deals of the season. As a designer, winter shopping is not only for friends and family, but a chance for me to do a little redecorating and to spice up my home in time for the season.

In honor of Holiday decor, I have decided to dedicate this 10 List to my favorite homeware brands. Table decor, barware, vases, throws, rugs, and even new bedding – the Holiday season is the perfect excuse to make some temporary changes that will pick up our mood thought the upcoming weeks.

Hearth and Hand

Launched just in time for Winter, Chip and Joanna Gaines’ new brand, Hearth and Hand, has been all the design talk over the past couple of months. The power couple, hosts of the American show Fixer Upper have created a collaboration with Magnolia, exclusively for the low price giant, Target. The home and lifestyle brand promises beautiful pieces at low prices and is committed to giving back to communities in need.

2 | Ferm Living

Founded in Copenhagen in 2006, Ferm Living’s collection ranges from accessories to lighting. The Scandinavian brand keeps its design heritage while redesigning its products in contemporary ways. The brand is committed to using real materials that have low impact on the environment. Each year, they produce a Christmas collection that include beautiful Christmas tree bases and one of a kind ornaments that will fill your home with holiday spirit in a contemporary and minimal style.

3 | The Banyan Tree Furniture & Homewares

The Melbourne based boutique is not only a homeware and furniture brand, but is also equipped with a team of interior consultants to assist clients in choosing the right products for their homes. Their homeware products range from rugs to cutlery, and their variety of choices can in no way disappoint.

4 | TO&FROM

TO&FROM is a design studio in London founded by Somya Singh and Bob de Graaf. The Indian and Dutch duo developed this homeware design company just last year, and have had success since. Their collection is produced by specialist artisans worldwide and represents timeless and elegant objects for everyday use.

5 | Broste Copenhagen

The leading Scandinavian Interior Design brand is also maker of a line of homeware products. Its bedspreads, mirrors, candles, and accessories collections are introduced every season, and their Autumn/ Winter collection is perfect for Holiday decorating and to use all year long.

6 | The Curious Department

The design studio and online boutique is based in London and focuses on homeware and art handmade in the UK. Although far from traditional, this eclectic brand is unique and its pieces will be a topic of conversation at your holiday dinner parties.

7 | Rowen and Wren

The UK based couple launched the homeware brand in 2011. The collection is filled with neutral colors and simple designs, which can be adapted to all different types of homes. The online shop holds a special Christmas collection of metallic toned objects and ornaments, for tasteful winter decorating.

8 | Objects of Common Interest

Greek founders Eleni Petaloti and Leonidas Trampoukis lead the architecture firm LOT, based in New York and in Greece. This design studio is focused on making products that represent materiality, and process. Each piece is bold and adopts a unique sensibility. A focus of their collection lies on classic geometric shapes and the way these are reinterpreted to fit interior spaces. The pieces are in large part an art collection, each piece holding a special meaning and telling a story.

9 | Ornamental Grace

This emerging homeware brand based in London focuses on handmade ceramic pieces. Each piece is designed and created by founder Claire Bailey. Her collection is luxurious, and has been exhibited worldwide. Although a newcomer in the homeware industry, the artist shows promise and is already proving to be successful within the field.

Aerin Lauder, American heiress and business woman founded her own home decor and lifestyle brand. Like her, the collection is elegant and the founder’s passion for art and decor is evident in her homeware choices. Her holiday collection and gift guides are perfect for giving friends and family gifts that will surely be loved and admired.
