I’m back from a week full of inspiring travels, first to Malmö (Sweden), then to Holland for the Dutch Design Week and finally to London. Give me some days to recap ideas and materials and I’ll be back with several news, by now let’s see (in this day dedicated to black) some inspiring and trendy ideas to decorate home with colours.
As I noticed in the last fairs I visited – and as we forecasted here on the blog one year ago – white walls are almost disappearing, to give space to neutrals and more colourful paints, together with colour blocking and other creative ways to decorate with paint.
A new trend is also to paint the ceiling with new hues, to add new depth by giving an extra colour to the fifth wall. Second, decorating with horizontal bands is another way to make a space bigger and more interesting, even more by painting the furniture in the same colors the walls.

Sono appena tornata da una settimana intensa di ispirazioni e viaggi, prima a Malmö (Svezia), poi in Olanda per la Dutch Design Week e infine a Londra. Ho tantissime cose di cui raccontarE, tempo di riordinare materiale ed idee e torno presto con molte novità. Intanto in questa giornata dedicata al nero ti lascio invece qualche idea dedicata a decorare la casa con il colore.
Come ho notato nelle ultime fiere che ho visitato – e come avevamo previsto qui l’anno scorso – le pareti bianche stanno praticamente scomparendo, per dare spazio a colori neutri o più forti, assieme a tante modalità più creative di decorare con la pittura.
Una tendenza molto attuale oggi è anche quella di dipingere il soffitto con un colore che non sia il bianco, per aggiungere una nuova profondità dando un colore extra alla “quinta parete”. Anche la tinteggiatura a fasce orizzontali di colore è un altro modo per rendere uno spazio più interessante, ancora di più se si colorano anche gli elementi di arredo dello stesso colore della parete.
