1# Soft and natural materials

One of the main trends of this year is to design interiors in order to help our well-being.
The bedroom is the place where to rest and relax, where to recharge from stress, as well as the perfect place from where to start making the more house more welcoming. The materials have a key role: today’s decor is made of natural materials, better if with tactile qualities, which together with the fabrics add an extra feeling of softness and harmony. The moodboards presented by Tomasella during the Salone del Mobile show this concept very well:

Una delle tendenze chiave del momento è la progettazione di interni rivolti a migliorare il nostro benessere fisico e mentale.
La camera da letto è il luogo della casa per autonomasia in cui riposare e rilassarsi, dove ricaricarsi dallo stress, e il modo in cui lo si arreda può influire notevolmente. Al fine di renderlo un ambiente accogliente e armonico, i materiali scelti per la decorazione e l’arredo hanno un riuolo chiave. Si parla principalmente di materiali naturali, con qualità non solo estetiche ma anche tattili, che insieme ai tessuti aggiungono una sensazione extra di morbidezza e armonia. Among the news presented by the brand in Milan, the new Halifax bed is characterized by a headboard which matches wood and fabrics, giving extra softeness to the bedroom environment. Same for the new Dafne bed, thanks to its headboard in a pleasant Capitonné effect.
Tra le novità presentate dal marchio a Milano, il nuovo letto Halifax è caratterizzato da una testiera che abbina legno e tessuto, conferendo una particolare morbidezza all’ambiente della camera da letto. Lo stesso vale per il nuovo letto Dafne, grazie alla sua testiera con effetto Capitonné.

2# Make your bedroom cosier with wallpaper

In addition to natural materials and fabrics, wallpaper is experiencing a big moment. We already talked about this when referring to the maximalist trend strongly coming out from this Milan Design Week. But the reason why wallpapers are strongly back is not just for their decorative appeal. More than just an extra decor, the right wallpaper gives an extra feeling of cosiness and depth inside any room. And yes, it’s perfect for the headboard wall.

Tra i materiali che sono tornati prepotentemente in voga, senza dubbio va elencata poi la carta da parati. Ne abbiamo già parlato in questo post del massimalismo come uno dei trend chiave di questa design week milanese, e di come le carte da parati fortemente decorative siano uno degli elementi più indicati per ricreare questo trend. Le carte da parati, oltre al loro indiscusso appeal decorativo, sono tornate però in auge anche perché conferiscono maggiore profondità ad ogni ambiente della casa. In particolare, in camera da letto e per decorare la parete testaletto.

3# Multifunctional and Modular

Together with increasing attention towards natural materials and fabric, same importance goes for functionality. Our bedrooms are getting smaller, or we are changing more and more often our place, as a consequence furniture design adapts to these needs. Multifunctional and modular are two key words to describe furniture now.
In the bedroom, the trend is reflected in new proposals of container beds (to save space), but also in new interesting solutions for modular closets and furniture.

Assieme ad un crescente interesse verso materiali e tessuti naturali, la stessa importanza viene data alla funzionalità, a come l’arredo della casa può migliorare la vita di tutti i giorni. Le nostre camere stanno diventando sempre più piccole, o stiamo cambiando sempre più spesso la nostra casa, e di conseguenza l’arredo si adatta a queste esigenze. Multifunzionale e modulare sono le due parole chiave per descrivere il desighn oggi.

4# Glazed and Mirrored surfaces

Finally, one trend we still did not mention is again about finishes and material, but this time about glazed and mirrored surfaces. Chrome, mirrors, together with glass, exclusively frosted, coloured or smoke, they were everywhere at the last salone del mobile, especially in the bedroom stylings.

Infine, una tendenza che non abbiamo ancora menzionato riguarda sempre le finiture e materiale, ma stavolta vede come porotagoniste le superfici specchiate. Cromo, specchi, vetri smerigliati e colorati, erano praticamente ovunque nell’ultimo Salone del Mobile, specialmente per quanto riguarda l’arredo della camera da letto.
