For me, Milan Design Week means two things: that the most challenging month of the year has arrived and that at the same time it’s the month to start concretely think about the summer holidays. The second thing is usually a good help to overcome the first one, without going out of mind.

For this reason, when I read this interview by AirBnb to some top designers of the Design Week, with topic: where will you go to relax after the hard work of the MDW? I loved to read it and I’m sharing with you, to start thinking about holidays too. What are your plans?

Per me Milano Design Week significa due cose: che è arrivato il mese più impegnativo dell’anno e allo stesso tempo il mese in cui iniziare a pensare concretamente alle vacanze estive. La seconda cosa solitamente è un buon incentivo a superare la prima senza farsi venire un esaurimento.

Per questo ho letto volentieri questa intervista fatta da AirBnb ad alcuni designers protagonisti della Design Week, con tema: dove andrete a rilassarvi dopo le fatiche del Salone? E ve la ripropongo, per iniziare a pensare un po’ anche alle vacanze. Voi dove andrete ?

MARC SADLER >>  Noto – Sicilia, Italia

French but born in Austria, he lives in Italy and worked with the most important international design companies. Once the design week will be over, Marc Sadler will escape with his wife in a little house by the sea in Sicily, which has been his refuge for year, despite his passion to discover always new places. An house like this one:

Francese, nato in Austria, vive in Italia e ha nel suo portfolio lavori con le più importanti aziende del design (e non solo) internazionali. Una volta finita la design week, Marc Sadler scappa con la moglie in una casetta in riva al mare in Sicilia, suo rifugio da anni e meta fissa, nonostante la passione di scoprire luoghi sempre nuovi. Una casa tipo questa:

CHIARA ANDREATTI >> Takayama – Giappone

Chiara Andreatti, one of the most promising young designers, once the Salone has finished, will travel in the snowy mountains of Japan. Her  holiday home is an hour’s drive from Takayama, it is surrounded by nature and absolutely in japanese-style (onsen included!).
The perfect place to relax and completely disconnect!

Chiara Andreatti, giovane designer da tenere sicuramente d’occhio, una volta terminato il Salone prenderà ed andrà tra le montagne innevate del Giappone. In una casa vacanze un’ora di macchina da Takayama, immersa nella natura e assolutamente japanese-style (onsen inclusa!).

ELENA SALMISTRATO >> Marrakech – Marocco

One of the main protagonists of the Brera Design District, artist and designer Elena Salmistraro, has not found yet a destination where to relax after the design week. But it will be certainly something very similar to this beautiful traditional riad in the heart of the Medina, in Marrakech:

The designer Luca Nichetto works between his studio in Venice and the one in Stockholm. It will not have so many relax days after the design week and in Milan he will stay in this AirBnb Plus.

Il designer Michael Bargo scappa in questa casa nel Connecticut, circondata da montagne, cascate e fiumi. Ed in vacanza è un abitudinario, che ama sapere sempre cosa aspettarsi da un luogo.

ANDREA ROSSO >> Città del Messico – Messico

For the Creative Director of Diesel, no breaks after Milan for the Design Week. The same happened last year, when he went to Mexico City in this AirBnb after the Salone.

Per il Licences Creative Director di Diesel, niente pause dopo la Milano per la Design Week. Lo stesso era successo l’anno scorso, recandosi a Città del Messico proprio in questo AirBnb.

GIACOMO MOOR >> Toscana – Italia

The wood designer will move with his family to Tuscany, in a historic house surrounded by 150 hectares of land, for an holiday away from the Milanese chaos.

Il designer del legno si sposterà con la famiglia in Toscana, in una storica tenuta immersa in 150 ettari di terreno per una vacanza lontana dal caos .
