I could drink tea ten times a day. And add teal paint and accessories everywhere, I’m really partial on this.
Actually the world “teal” was created in England (in far 1917) to identify that medium-saturated, blue-green color, similar to medium green and dark cyan. The name teal came from the duck and its eyes contour in this typical green-blue shade.
In its lighter version (turquoise) it was the Pantone colour for 2010 and it has been widely used in the graphic and web design in past years, see for example the Windows 95 desktop that was in #008080 code that’s to say in pure teal.
This year we find a darker version of teal, a blue teal, which is very popular in many latest news of design brands, as seen at Maison et Objet 2016 here with several dark teal paint inspo. Today some inspirations and ideas to decorate home with teal and blue teal, plus two teal paints news from two colour brands and some colour palettes.

Vi basta dare un’occhiata al mio profilo instagram qui per capire quanto questa tonalità di colore sia nelle mie corde.
Con il termine teal si indica quella particolare tonalità che sta in mezzo tra l’azzurro e il verde che prende il nome proprio dalla papera e dal suo contorno occhi.
Infatti nella sua versione più chiara (turchese) era già il Pantone dell’anno per il 2010, nonchè ampliamente utilizzato nella grafica già dal ’95, dato che il #008080 era proprio uno dei primi sfondi di Windows.
Per il 2016 lo ritroviamo proposto da moltissime aziende di design nelle versioni più scure, tendenti al blu petrolio, ovvero a quella particolare tonalità di blu scuro con una punta di verde al suo interno. Ve ne avevo già parlato una volta rientrata da Maison et Objet qui, oggi invece vediamo una serie di idee e di esempi per aggiungere un tocco di teal in casa.
