What’s better than contamination between different styles and cultures?

That’s the design concept of Vino Veritas, a Spanish restaurant design in Oslo, Norway, designed by Masquespacio.

I..e, a mix between the Norwegian culture with the Andalusian one in a single space.

The interior palette is the typical Scandinavian-style one, with total white and bleached oak wood, with a touch of that petrol green that is so trendy now in Scandinavian design (see here for some inspirations in green as colour trend for 2016). This is mixed with many decor elements that recall the handcrafted Andalusian tradition, such as raffia lamps, terracotta vases, baskets, rope wall coverings. The result is a restaurant interior design which is original, welcoming and green friendly.

If you are wondering –as I did– where those cushions with colorful ikat prints come from (about this type of prints, have a look at this post here), they were designed by Masquespacio. The green chairs that spice up the restaurant design are from Spanish design brand Missana.

Cosa c’è di meglio della contaminazione tra stili e culture differenti?

E’ il concetto attorno a cui ruota l’interior design di Vino Veritas, un ristorante spagnolo ad Oslo, Norvegia, progettato da Masquespacio.

Ovvero, fondere la cultura Norvegese con quella dell’Andalusia in un unico spazio.

In un interno che è colorato delle tonalità tipiche degli interni in stile scandinavo, ovvero del non-colore del bianco e del legno sbiancato, con un tocco di quel verde petrolio che è tanto in voga ora nel design Scandinavo. Il tutto mixato ad elementi che richiamano alla tradizione dell’artigianato dell’Andalusia, come le lampade in rafia fatte a mano, i vasi in terracotta, le ceste, i rivestimenti a parete in corda.

Se anche voi vi state chiedendo di che marca siano quei cuscini con stampe colorate ikat (a proposito di questo tipo di stampe, vi rimando ad un post qui), sono stati disegnati dallo studio stesso. Le sedute sono invece sono di Missana, coloratissimo marchio di design spagnolo.

PS: Ricordate che vi ho già parlato dello studio spagnolo Masquespacio? Quasi tre anni fa qui, con uno dei primi loro progetti. E ancora qui, con un negozio dalle tonalità del turchese. Che ne dite di quest’ultimo progetto?

“It was important for us to highlight characteristics like the ecology and craftsmanship of Andalusia that were marked significantly by the business model of Vino Veritas. Although we wanted to take in count the beauty of the Norwegian architecture and always thinking in designing an elegant and warm, but at the same time inviting space, for a wider public looking for the Spanish culture and gastronomy.”
