URBAN JUNGLE BLOGGERS| A garden of wonders near my home

Today I take advantage of the monthly Urban Jungle Bloggers topic to show you one amazing place I have recently been.

The theme is Still Life: Desert Edition and although these are not still life proper, these images take us back to a small desert inside the city. If you suffer of cacti-mania syndrome as I do, for sure you will love this!

The place you see in pictures is the new Orto Botanico di Padova: it’s an expansion of the historical botanical garden, founded back in 1545 and at present the oldest university botanical garden in the world, still located in its original location (holy wikipedia). The new project by VS Associati architects is a mega greenhouse in total white, a huge glazed window that brings in the city an ideal section of the globe, from the equator and tropical climates towards the poles.

It’s been nicknamed the “Garden of Wonders”, and it really deserves a visit!

Oggi ne approfitto del tema mensile degli Urban Jungle Bloggers per portarvi in un posto unico in cui sono stata nel weekend.

Il tema del mese è Still Life: Desert Edition e anche se non si tratta di un vero e proprio still life, queste immagini ci riportano ad un piccolo deserto urbano in città. Se come me soffrite della comune sindrome denominata cacti-mania, di sicuro le apprezzerete!

La città in questione è Padova e qui siamo al Nuovo Orto Botanico: ampliamento dello storico Orto Botanico di Padova, fondato nel 1545 ed è il più antico orto botanico universitario al mondo ancora situato nella sua collocazione originaria (santo wikipedia). Il progetto di VS Associati è una mega serra bianca, una grande vetrina che riporta un’ideale sezione del globo, dall’equatore e climi tropicali degradando verso i poli.

Soprannominato il “Giardino delle meraviglie”, questo posto merita proprio una visita: segnatevelo!
