KITCHEN TRENDS #3 | Short guide to the new metallic trend in the kitchen

For sure, you have already noticed how trendy the metallic finishes have become lately in interiors. Shiny furniture finishes, wallpapers, fabrics, inspired by the Twenties vibes of the Great Gatsby style, enrich the interiors with new vibrant effects. No exception for the kitchen design, where metallic finishes are absolutely on trend now.

However, we all know that the kitchen is the environment of our homes designed to last many years: in this article, I am showing you some cool example on how to incorporate the metallic trend in your kitchen, for a decor which will last over the passing of trends.

Kitchen Trends #3

Metallic interior design trend in kitchen design

1# Add a touch of metallic with a stainless steel appliance

/ Metallic interior design trend in the kitchen

If you want to add a touch of metallic in your kitchen, but at the same time play safe with your decor, one option can be a stainless steel piece. No doubt, a stainless steels built-in oven is that element which can break the monotony of an everything-coordinated-kitchen, without the fear of venturing too much (I know you guys!).

Moreover, a stainless steel kitchen can really fit into any kind of decor. Think for example about a rustic vintage style kitchen, or a Scandinavian minimalist kitchen, or for example a contemporary sleek kitchen: in any case, stainless steel is cool. But – and here it comes the difficult side – make sure to match the style of the appliance with the style of your kitchen. For doing so, you have to pay attention to the details. Handles, letterings, knobs: details set the style of your kitchen, yet for the same finish in stainless steel make sure to go for the right one.

Take a look for example at these kitchens by Bertazzoni: same finish, totally different style.

If you want to dare with a more original metallic finish, but at the same time something that will never get out of style, go for a precious artisanal finish for your kitchen appliance. This will make all your kitchen decor stand out, adding value with just one detail.

Bertazzoni kitchens are well-known for their special finishes and in one of their latest collections, the Modern series, you will find some special metallic finishes inspired by Italian metallurgical craftsmen. It’s not just about recreating a similar metallic effect in the kitchen surfaces, as these appliances are truly finished with the same artisanal method of Italians craftsmen. This makes every piece unique: there are not two exactly the same ovens because they are finished by hand. They are unique as works of art that show all the skill and expertise of those who created them. They are available in copper and zinc, to add a touch of metallic finish in any kitchen design.

3# Mix and Match different metallics and play with accessories

Never mix different metals has always been one of those big rules of decoration. Luckily, it is not anymore as the decor lately became much more free and funky. For a maximalist kitchen, mixing different metals can be a beautiful solution, if done properly. So yes to mixing different metallic finishes intentionally, but make sure always to match shapes and families – example, for faucets and knobs, always go for the same family if you want to mix finishes.
