MICROTREND : diy leather handles for home

I’ve spotted them a few days ago in a beautiful new styling for Livet Hemma Ikea – the Swedish blog of Ikea.

What am I talking about? Leather handles, for home decor.

Applied to pillows, balconies and benches, and to kitchen cabinets. I see them everywhere at present: maybe because it is a detail that I’ve always loved (do you remember this rustic bar design in Australia from last year, and this design hotel in London last month ?), but also because leather is a trendy material for home decor at present.

As trendy as classic, leather at home in natural and warm is a choice that last in time and that goes well with everything!

There is a leather pull in the new wall desk by Norm Architects for Menu as well (this is actually a desk I would dream for my home, as you can close it up!) – see at the end of the post!

Leather handles are a simple and easy idea to add an original and trendy detail to our interiors. Something like a bag leather handle, applied to objects and accessories in our homes…so easy that well maybe I would succeed in creating some leather pulls by myself as well, with my poor manual skills and patience!

Di cosa vi parlo? Delle maniglie in pelle, per la casa però.

Applicate a cuscini, a balconi, a sedute, ad ante di cucine. Io le vedo un po’ dappertutto, certo un po’ perchè è un dettaglio che mi piace moltissimo (ve le facevo notare già l’anno scorso in questo bar australiano, ma anche il mese scorso nell’hotel di design di Londra in cui ho dormito), ma anche perchè c’è poco da dire, la pelle è un materiale di tendenza al momento.

Attutale più che mai in questo periodo, anche se si tratta in realtà di un vero classico: la pelle nelle tonalità calde e naturali non stanca mai e sta con tutto, vi rimando al post di due giorni fa con tema pelle in casa per varie ispirazioni con abbinamenti di colore ed icone del design proprio!

Anche nell’ultimo nato di Norm Architects, una bellissima scrivania a muro prodotta da Menu, c’è il dettaglio della maniglia in pelle…io questa scrivania la vorrei in casa mia, potrei chiuderla e nascondere tutto il casino che ci sta dietro 😉 (la trovate alla fine del post)

Quella delle maniglie in pelle è un’ idea semplice e facile da realizzare per dare un dettaglio in più agli interni. Un po’ come per le maniglie delle borse, solo che qui le si applica ad oggetti della casa…ci riuscirei pure io, con la mia scarsissima manualità e pazienza, credo!
