COLOR TRENDS | The top palettes in interiors and decor for the next year

Discovering the top palettes for interiors and decor for 2020

We are definitely back to the office and I am ready after a traveling August to start a new season full of news. As you may already know, I always have fun in exploring what’s new in the web, as a way to restart with new and fresh inspirations.

During my first wanderings of the week in the web, I discovered a really interesting color trend report I would love to share with IB readers.

DuluxNz has published their new palettes for interiors and decor for the 2020.

The New Zealander branch of the painting brand, in fact, shared 4 interesting color palettes that have really good chances to be seen a lot next year. Besides containing all the painting codes, the palettes are also associated with a series of really inspiring interior settings, which showcase how to put into practice the trendy palettes for the next season.

Let’s now go through the brand new 2020 palettes together!

2020 Color Trend palettes  1 | Grounded

Grounded represents a slower and more conscious way of living, that we can reach also thanks to welcoming and warm environments. Interiors embrace smart solutions together with more conscious choices, with pieces that last for long time and are hand made. The palette includes a series of warm neutral colors, together with a hint of accent color in coral. The perfect way to work with this pattern is to combine the range of colours with raw materials, lots of textiles and different textures.

2020 Color Trend palettes  2 | Comeback

Groundbreak is the new color palette for 2020 which shows how to blend contemporary and vintage design, to fully express our creativity. It’ s a maximalist and eclectic palette, made of rich colors referring to the past, especially to the Bauhaus and Arts and Crafts movements, blended with some 80-s inspired hues.

2020 Color Trend palettes  3 | Cultivate

Cultivate is a calm and gentle color palette working around different hues of greens. The color inspiration comes from nature, from the forest, the musk, the sky, together with a hint of refined colors such as mustard yellow and purple. Inspired to the Biophilia design trend, this palette works well in those interiors with Japanese influences, where minimalism meets nature for a calming and restful ambience.

2020 Color Trend palettes  4 | Indulge

The last palette is called Indulge and it speaks to our collective desire to disconnect. A romantic and decadent palette, designed around oranges, reds, purples and browns. This color palette is complemented perfectly by soft surfaces, such as velvet and chenille, inspired by Art Deco and the 70s, for a nostalgic and luxurious appeal.
