First day of spring – even if yesterday it snowed here in my place, can you believe it? – so let’s say hello to the new season with some new inspiration for the upcoming season.
I put together a round up about what will be trending in interior and decor this spring/summer 2018. So, as usual, by knowing interior trends you can decide whether if to be inspired by them…or ignore them at all. It is just up to you!

Primo giorno di primavera – anche se qui non sembra proprio, visto che ieri ha nevicato!- e insieme voglia di cambiamento. E di estate, e di vacanze, e di caldo (almeno per me)
Mentre fuori nevicava, appunto, ho messo insieme in questo post le tendenze più nuove nell’interior da provare con la nuova stagione. Oppure no, perché a volte conoscere i trend significa anche saperli evitare diciamolo!

Forget about statement walls. This season, the latest decorating trend are statement ceilings. Eyes up then to decorate that surface – the 5th wall – we always left on a background. Vibrant colors, original wallpapers, exposed beams: free your imagination and bring your decor to the next level!

Non è più tempo di pensare solo alle pareti. Questa stagione, l’ultima tendenza sono i soffitti decorati. Occhi all’insù quindi, per decorare quella superficie che abbiamo sempre lasciato in secondo piano. Con colori accesi o pastello, carte da parati originali, travi a vista: libera la tua fantasia e prova questa nuova tendenza!

E’ ufficiale, ve ne avevo parlato ancora quest’inverno già di ritorno da IMM Colonia: i colori pastello sono tornati. La tendenza attuale è proprio di accostare diverse tonalità pastello, ma anche alcune tonalità più cariche che ricordano i colori del gelato, per un risultato deciso e allo stesso tempo tenue, perfetto per la stagione più calda. Infatti, rosa bubblegum, lilla, pesca, verde celadon, sono solo alcune delle tonalità da osare quest’estate.

Researches for “patterned plants” on Pinterest grow up +533% this year. This means that, while plants indoor is still a popular trend, the favourite houseplants have a more vibrant and patterned foliage. You can opt for example for a striped pattern like the Calathea Ornata or the Caladium, or a polka dot patterned like the Begonia Maculata Variegata

Ciò significa che, mentre le piante indoor continuano ad affermarsi come una tendenza super popolare, le piante d’interno preferite oggi hanno un fogliame più vivace e decorato. Si può optare per esempio per un motivo a strisce come quello della Calathea Ornata o del Caladio, o per un motivo a pois come quello della Begonia Maculata

Do you remember the new version of the iconic Verner Panton chair in chrome finish I told you about here? It is just one of the many furnishings that will soon be presented again in chrome finish with the new season. An old trend revival that, after copper, brass and gold, tells us that the metallic finishes are still a must in the interior and design today.

E’ solo uno dei tanti arredi che verranno presto riproposti in finitura cromo nella nuova stagione. Un revival di un vecchio trend che, dopo rame, ottone e oro, riconferma le finiture metalliche come un must dell’arredo e del design oggi.

Bucket sinks are increasingly popular in bathroom interiors. These deep, wide and durable sinks, commonly used in laundries, are now an option for the master bathroom too, probably because of their low-maintenance sinks and their rustic feel. Wall mounted sinks also help to maximize the space and are becoming one of the favourite solutions.
I lavandini da lavanderia sono sempre più popolari nelle stanze da bagno. Questi lavandini profondi, ampi e resistenti, comunemente appunto usati nelle lavanderie, sono ora un’opzione anche per il bagno di casa, non così strana come potrebbe sembrare. I lavabi a parete in genere stanno diventando sempre più diffusi, perché contribuiscono a sfruttare meglio lo spazio spesso ridotto della stanza da bagno.

Typically American, the Shaker style is based on functionality and simplicity, but at the same time on the craftsmanship value of things. Fav material, wood in warm and natural essences. We’ll talk about this again!

Secondo Lidewji Edelkoort, una delle più importanti trend forecaster al mondo, ci sarà una riscoperta dello stile Shaker. Tipicamente americano, lo stile Shaker si basa sulla funzionalità e sulla semplicità, ma alo stesso tempo sul valore artigianale delle cose. Materiale preferito, in legno in essenze calde e naturali. Gen-Z Yellow / interior decor trends spring 2018
Millennials are no trending anymore, now the marketing looks at the Generation Z, also called the Centennials: that is, those born at the turn of the millennium. Main feature of this generation is its widespread use of the Internet, since their birth: this generation symbol, indeed, the emoticon. Distinctive color: yellow, called the Gen-Z Yellow.
Looks like we will see a lot of this bright yellow around: btw, I keep loving our Millennial Pink!
Giallo Gen-Z / tendenze primavera estate 2018
Che noi Millennial ormai siamo superati già lo sapevamo. Ora il marketing guarda alla Generation Z, detti anche i Centennials: ovvero, i nati a cavallo del Duemila. Un aspetto importante di questa generazione è il suo diffuso utilizzo di Internet sin dalla nascita: simbolo, l’emoticon. Colore distintivo: il giallo, detto appunto il Gen-Z Yellow.
Pare ne vedremo molto in giro: sarà, ma io continuo ad essere affezionata al nostro Millennial Pink !
