You can tell a Country by its kitchen (design)
And that’s what we’re going to talk about in the blog, with a new project that officially starts today and that is between interiors, design and travels, just as this blog is about.
The kitchen is the home’s core and the place where different lifestyles and traditions take shape in the interior design.
In a globalised world, with distances get shorter thanks to technology, I love to see and learn from different local customs and practices, to see how these affect the interior design, and I have fun looking for them by browsing the net and by traveling as soon as I can.
That is why I am really happy to start here a new collaboration between ITALIANABARK and Bertazzoni: the result will be a virtual travel from Italy to the United States, to Scandinavia to the Far East, to get in touch with the different Countries and cultures through their kitchen design. We will see how colors, finishes, measures, trends, are different, through several beautiful kitchens and projects, and more technical posts. The journey will last until next year, here on the blog and on socials.

Paese che vai, cucina che trovi
Cucina intesa non solo come tradizione culinaria, ma anche come design della cucina.
Ed è di questo che parleremo nel blog, con un progetto che parte ufficialmente oggi tra le pagine del blog e dei social: un progetto che sta in mezzo tra interior, design e travel, proprio come questo blog.
La cucina è il cuore della casa e la stanza in cui stili di vita e tradizioni influiscono di più nel design degli interni.
Usi e costumi diversi, oltre che un modo molto differente di vivere la casa, si riflettono nell’ambiente cucina: in un mondo sempre più globalizzato, in cui le distanze sono sempre più brevi grazie alla tecnologia, mi affascina molto vedere e imparare alle differenze culturali. Lo faccio sia virtualmente navigando moltissimo in internet, sia nella realtà viaggiando non appena possibile.
Per questo sono davvero felice e entusiasta di condividere qui una nuova collaborazione tra ITALIANBARK e Bertazzoni, che si tradurrà in un viaggio virtuale, dall’Italia agli Stati Uniti, alla Scandinavia all’Estremo Oriente, per conoscere l’ambiente cucina nei diversi Paesi. Vedremo come vengono interpretati in maniera differente i colori, le finiture, ma anche le misure, la progettazione, le diverse tendenze, attraverso progetti bellissimi e post più tecnici. Un viaggio che durerà fino al prossimo anno, tra le pagine del blog e nei social.

Open Space | La cucina integrata nel living
Experts say that the there is a return to closed kitchens (I also said this in the post interior trends 2017 – in&out). In Italy, however, open space kitchens are still a big trend, indeed many brands created kitchen collections with integrated living furniture. One more reason to choose ovens and appliances to be beautiful other than useful
Gli esperti dicono che la cucina open space avrà vita breve, a favore di un ritorno alle cucine chiuse ( ve ne parlavo anch’io qui a proposito dei trend del 2017). In Italia però la tendenza della cucina open space sembra ancora andare alla grande, anzi sono moltissime le aziende che creano delle linee di cucine con mobili soggioro coordinati. Un motivo in più per avere forni ed elettrodomestici belli da vedere, oltre che utili.

Professional appliances | Piano cottura e cucina professionale
Cooking is a serious thing. Italians kitchen design is almost as important as its appliances: technological solutions help us to cook better. As for example in Bertazzoni kitchens, which have induction or gas or both zones, along with wood or electric ovens, with 11 cooking functions.
Cucinare è un fatto serio. Ancora prima che per i mobili da cucina, in Italia non si risparmia sugli elettrodomestici e per soluzioni sempre più tecnologiche che aiutano a cucinare meglio. Modern with a rustic touch | Contemporanee, ma con tocco rustico
Contemporary style kitchens are often mixed with some elements of a more classic and rustic style. In our mind, the kitchen must be the warmest and most welcoming room of the house, so it is common to see steel matched with wood, or modern kitchens matched with traditional tiling.
Anche le cucine dal design più contemporaneo spesso vengono mixate con elementi dallo stile più classico e rustico. Nel nostro immaginario infatti la cucina dev’essere l’ambiente più caldo ed accogliente della casa e quindi spesso l’acciaio viene abbinato al legno, oppure a cucine moderne vengono accostati rivestimenti in piastrelle che richiamano quelle di una volta.

Just a bit of color | Alcuni tocchi di colore
It’s hard for us to design and choose very colorful kitchens (even though there are so many beautiful inspirations on this ones, remember these colorful kitchens I posted a few time ago?). The kitchen has to last for a long time and our fear is to get tired by bright colours. Much better to add just some pops of colour, maybe with a colorful oven that can add a touch of color in neutral design.
Difficile per noi italiani osare con cucine molto colorate (anche se ce ne sono davvero di belle, ricordate ad esempio queste cucine colorate che avevo raccolto?). La cucina deve durare molto a lungo e temiamo che colori azzardati possano stancarci. Meglio utilizzare il colore solo in alcuni punti, come ad esempio con un forno colorato che possa aggiungere un tocco di colore senza stravolgere uno stile di cucina prevalentemente neutro.

Designed to last a long time | Deve durare a lungo!
As said above, whatever style the kitchen is, we want our kitchen to last for a long time, investing on quality furniture and appliances.
Che sia in stile industriale, minimalista, classico o altro…la caratteristica che vogliamo per le nostre cucine è che durino a lungo. La cucina è l’ambiente della casa per cui siamo disposti a spendere di più, proprio nell’ottica di acquistare arredi ed elettrodomestici di qualità e con garanzia di durare nel tempo.
